When belief after belief of jw'dom has been shown to be false it's a wonder that people still consider what Rutherford said at all, in my view. Technically it's not been proven false if millions of people alive in 1920 are still alive (I was visiting someone today who was born in 1919) but given the track record it's hard to consider him/them credible with regard to anything.

Millions now living will never die - false prophecy yet?
by slimboyfat inrutherford wrote the booklet of that name in 1920. is that definitively a false prophecy yet?
even if everyone who was alive in 1920 survived armageddon, if it was to come today, would that amount to millions of people?
according to wikipedia there are 316,600 people who are a 100 years old or older.

Question for the married guys
by TweetieBird inis it possible to be friends with a woman, text her, call her, etc and not be physically attracted to her?.

A whole host of things come to mind.
a friend that is also a friend of your wife?
does your wife know about her?
is she aware you are married?
motive from both parties?
and sometimes there may be no attraction from one party but there is from the other, that rarely turns out well.

It's been mentioned but there's been point after point repeated simply because people can't seem to grasp it, or simply refuse to.
The lad said the lords prayer, hardly original so it wasn't his own words. That surely isn't in despute. If the lad fell to his knees and said," Allahu Akbur, Allahu Akbur, Ashadu anna Muhammadan rasoolullah" (excuse if I got that wrong) which in my view is in no way different to a christian saying the so called lords prayer, can there be any disputing the fact that there would have been an outcry? honestly?
Would that have been viewed by the American public at large as harmless religious speech? I can only speak for myself and say no, I think that would have caused a problem or two. Just my opinion.

Theists - Why does Morality require the existence of God?

Apologies, of course you are correct. I should have stated that I was referring only to Christians who believe in the god of the bible. Sorry I wasn't clear on that. :)

FlyingHighNow - Yes, that's what I meant. Although I was under the impression that those who believed in the god of the bible believed that's where morals came from? I'm happy to stand corrected if that's not the case for all believers.

An elder announced at a CA that Terminater 2 should not be watched. I also remember the c/o at an elders/servants meeting telling us that Bono worshipped the devil and that Madonna with a disgusting thing for 'wearing her underwear on the outside'

To me, the original question has only one answer. Theists believe that morality requires the existence of god because that's what they've been taught to believe. Based on a book. A book that states that god commanded it's people to hide, abduct and rape woman. Not ideal in my view.

New Rooming Arrangement for some district conventions in the UK - what are they up to?
by 88JM inso i missed this letter below being read out last week - i got a look at it from the notice board this week.. from what i heard, this announcement was not received entirely positively as such, but there were apparently one or two for who this is a bit annoying.. staying at hotels for the district convention is nothing new here - many are used to staying at the same hotel/b&b/campsite every year, and get quite friendly with the owners.
but this year, it looks like not only do we have a new location for our district assembly (glasgow - the s.e.c.c.?
) but we are being told what hotel to stay at, supposedly to make things cheaper.. what i can't understand is, if this is really for the benefit of people, why didn't they do this years ago?
