  a short while back a circuit overseer told the congregation his personal experience.

  i was not concentrating at the beginning but somehow he and his wife were at an assembly with no money.

  they had scraped together the cash to rent an old caravan for the weekend and now they were out of food.

  I remember years ago a JW told me he was out in the door to door work, him and his service partner and they were hungry with no money and no food. (I suggested he would have been better trying to get a job to earn money to buy food rather than walk around pointlessly with WTBS tracts)

  So, they are walking past shops looking at the food in the windows (ffs) when a van drove past them and an apple pie fell out the back of the van. They got down on their knees and thanked god for providing them the food. I was gobsmacked. They actually believed that god had hand delivered them an apple pie as reward for putting first the kingdom.

  That morning, knowing they had no food, they said they prayed to god to feed them and their prayer was answered....

  I was watching the game when Muamba went down, it was quite horrific watching it.

  i no longer wish to recognised as one of the jehovah's witnesses due to the fact that i no longer believe that this 'organisation' is truly representing him because :.

  i have experienced greater and unconditional love/friendship with the people i am supposed to hate 'worldly people' than i did in this congregation.

  Or an elder phones you up years later, accuses you of not caring about your ex because if you really cared you'd admit your 'sin' so she can now move on. That is after several other disgraceful ways of trying to find out if I've had sex after our marriage was ended.

  Depends, if it's those who attend because they are terrified not to then yes. Whether it be that they are scared because they've been told they'll be killed by god if they don't go or scared of losing family. I'd rather for their own sake that they fade. If folk attend knowing full well it's completely false then it's about time they left. We only live once.

  it's only a couple of years away now and what a headache it must present to the gb - providing they have given it much thought already.

  there probably is no elegant way of presenting the hundred year long failure of the end to come; the fact that the "short period of time" of satan being cast down to the earth has now stretched beyond any credibility.

  but they have to deal with it one way or another.

  They absolutely must think about it, privately. As individuals. Maybe even as a body. But I see it more or less being completely ignored. It'll be no more significant than 1984, 1994, 2004, 2024 etc.

  So what do your Jehovah's Witness friends and loved ones think of the generation teaching?

  after the little skit at the last assembly where one brother was asking another for understanding about the generation teaching i thought, "wow, these people will believe anything the watchtower tells them.

  " the 'more mature brother' practically said verbatim everything the watchtower said as his explanation.

  evidently, this is one of the sources of the increased 'murmuring' that the talked warned against.. so, has anyone brought this up to their witness friends and/or family?
