The ratio of baptized to attendees has been running about 0.4-0.6%, so only one out of 1000 is indeed low -

WTBTS vs. Islam
by kairos inthe articles and meeting parts have been missing something all along, as far as i can see.. jws are taught to demonize all 'worldly' ( not jws) organizations, individuals and religions as having no value only to be destroyed by god at 'harm-you-gettin'-( armageddon ).. why do they not mention islam?no scathing denouncements?.
the only publication i really remember, was the "mankind's search for god" book that touched on the beliefs and practices of muslims.. why do you think this is the case?.

In Muslim countries it is illegal to proselytize to non Christians. The WT does not buck the trend. And in other places, the WT rhetoric doesn't appeal to the Muslim mindset. -

I had a conversation once with a JW from Nigeria and he was really vocal about demonism. Definitely a believer -

registering for Selective Service at age 18?
by halcyon inevery year this news item was published in the km.
but i've noticed that i've never heard of it anywhere else, ever.
how do most young men in the world know that they're supposed to do this?
-

It was part of their strategy to get the young JWs a minister classification. Their chance of getting the classification was almost zero if they had not registered as the law required.
aside, when you apply for financial aid at college you have to prove you have registered.

"It's the demons..."
by pale.emperor inone thing that really frustrates me inside is how quite a few jw's (especially my family) actually believe that demons like to inhabit second hand vases, or clothes etc.
my sister and mother are so bad with this that they wont even talk about it - because even talking about it "brings demons into your home".
so any attempt to show them that it's unscriptural is shut off with, sometimes them literally going "lalalalalalala im not listening".. i used to believe it myself (why wouldn't i?, i was told by my mother and father it was fact).. what i'd like to point out to anyone that would let me debunk it is this:.

I always keep my wind chimes up to scare away any demons hanging around. Solved that problem... -

Did Freddy Franz receive secret instructions from a Jewish aquaintance?
by truthseeker ini recently met a sister who told me she heard of a story that the late president of the watchtower society, mr. freddy franz, received secret instructions on how to direct the organization from a jewish acquaintance.. is this a conspiracy theory or could there be some truth to it?.
truthseeker.

I always thought it a bit odd that there were frequent references to the Jewish calendar, and that the WT used CE and BCE, which are used in Jewish literature and modern Israel. -

Recent yearbooks show about 11000 to 12000 witnesses in Jamaica, so the writer must have made a mistake. -

It's curious that they Call them 'temples'. I don't recall hearing that before. Maybe the news writer chose the word.
So would this article be about the branch buildings or Kingdom or assembly Halls?
i don't know much about Jamaica, but 45 million seems like a lot. I see it must be in Jamaican currency.
