Tanzania News Update
by mana11 ini wanted to share with you some feed back from this region.
since you could say tanzania and other regions within africa are the last hard to reach places on the earth.
it is where the www preaching work funds are directed, as being justified to get your donations.there are now no longer any foreigners at the branch within tanzania, they all were told to go.

I would agree with Steve that turning it over to local brothers is not 'abandoning' the work, but pulling out the funding from overseas is. The African branches are far from self- sufficient, as the per capita income is shockingly low. -

I am curious too, as my family friend is at a branch in Africa ( not Tanzania). There is a cutback there, but not nearly as extreme as the OP. -

About ten years ago I heard a talk by a Nigerian brother who came to our hall ( in the US) about demonism. It was clear that he really believed in it and to the US audience it came across as strange. There's definitely a culture difference. -

Seems like every family ( I am in the US) has their story about a connection to Native Americans. We just love to think we're connected to the Native culture I guess. Sounds more interesting than 'My ancestors were penniless squatters for two centuries.' -

If I see that SBF has commented, I open the post even if I wouldn't have otherwise. Nearly always rewarded with an unexpected viewpoint. -

Literature being discontinued, including Isaiah's Prophecy and Reasoning book
by Richard_I incongregations get an annual letter that tells what can be ordered for literature (it's mainly a list of audio cds/dvds for the deaf), but this time it included publications that will be discontinued, and this included the isaiah's prophecy book and the reasoning book, and i think i saw the draw close to jehovah book.
i meant to take a picture of the letter but forgot.
the branch is only going to give what they have on stock, when that stock depletes that's it, you won't be able to order those publications anymore.. this is in canada so i don't know if this is worldwide..

Eventually all printed literature will be discontinued, other than single page handouts. They haven't printed anything worth reading for years, since the original Aid book and the 'All Scripture inspired'. Everything else has been a joke.
