I don't believe she has been an active JW for a long time. I say good for her, she is just one of many successful people who have a JW past. She's moving on in her life without the JW constraints.

i've been noticing lots of these pins on lapels.
i could almost understand the jwdotorg pin because the new mantra is to go to the website.
but why on earth are they sporting a building?
I doubt the wt organization officially endorses the lapel pin. It's probably a private enterprise.
there are two kingdom halls in two parts of the county i live in.
one is smaller and their are already about to begin work to replace with a new one.. just posting because i noticed posts saying their wasn't new khs being built.
and i learned this today from someone..
I would be interested in photos of the construction, as well as the finished buildings, A-B.
week starting december 26, 2016.
(isaiah 17:1) 17 the pronouncement against damascus: “look!
damascus removed from being a city, and she has become a heap, a decaying ruin.. .
Incidentally, does anyone remember a WT book called 'Gems from the Mine'? I used to have a reprint of it. It was an early version of the WT Index, I believe, dating to about 1909 or so.
i'll start with the first study article.. this study article deals with vows made to jehovah.
three main vows are discussed.. 1) your dedication to jehovah.
we are told that it is not possible to claim that our baptism was not valid .
A huge flaw in the WT reasoning is concerning the age of the ones getting baptized. A person has to be a certain legal age for a contract (including marriage) to be binding. Yet they hold the baptism of a minor over his or her head for the rest of their lives. It is atrocious and against all moral sense.
great article with charts showing how the world is getting better, despite the attempts of the news and certain religious groups to say it ain't so (or try and make it not).. https://ourworldindata.org/a-history-of-global-living-conditions-in-5-charts/.
.
The graph for 'Freedom' contains a word 'anocracy' which was new to me:
The index measures political regimes on a spectrum from +10 for full democracies to -10 for full autocracies; regimes that fall somewhere in the middle of this spectrum are called anocracies.
I don't recall seeing that word before.

may 21, 2016. we are pleased to inform you that electronic versions of the annual items for 2017 will be made available for download on jw.org beginning in october of this year.
this includes examining the scriptures daily—2017 and the 2017 yearbook of jehovah’s witnesses.
This might be the year they introduce the overlapping yearbook
chapter 9.
“let’s us move to were the need is greater”.
i remember a “kingdom ministry” heading saying “only x number of months left.” left to what?
The article says 90 months until 6000 years. Those who were there know that was understood by everyone to mean ' until the end'.
i was reading a book exploring he relationship between geography and religion and found the following quote starting on page 121 of chris park's sacred worlds.. park, c. c. (1994).
sacred worlds: an introduction to geography and religion.
london: routledge.. one of the most dynamic religious groups in terms of disseminating its beliefs is the jehovah’s witnesses.
An interesting quote. I presume the original is in Spanish? And intended for a Spain readership?
i sometimes did work for a lovely old couple who at times needed repairs done around their home.
my wife and myself spent time with them, having tea and crackers from time to time.
one day the husband and myself got into a conversation and he clearly showed himself to be a holocaust denier.
It is amazing to me that with the internet and availability of information, fringe ideas still exist. But in a way it has enabled the oddball ideas and beliefs to thrive. The news reports about Dylan Roof and others like him suggest they are radicalized on the internet by selectively reading what they want. Apparently they read what they want and ignore the rest.
