announce was made this week that the assembly halls in london, ohio and indianapolis indiana will be sold and a new 3000 seat assembly hall will be built in southwest ohio.
the assembly hall in london ohio was built in the 70's and is in fine shape - nothing wrong with it.
the new one will cost around 8-9 million.
I heard recently that the Indianopolis Assembly Hall was sold <finally>. I believe the buyer was a megachurch. The London assembly hall is being used as it always has, if it is for sale or not I don't know.
i'm sure that most longer term readers on this list know that the use of the number in the revelation was a 'code' using the jewish concept that assigned number values to the letters of the hebrew alphabet.. a promoter of modern judaism ( dr. eliyahu lizorkin-eyzeneberg) explains:.
today gematria is well-known as a jewish interpretive method that assigns numerical values of hebrew letters to words, phrases and/or sentences.

I always thought the WT explanation has an inherent anachonism also. They always included the explanation that it was the number 6 repeated three times. But it wasn't, it was the number six hundred sixty-six. The way to 'do math' back then was with Roman numerals, which is not the number 6 repeated three times. The invention of representing larger numerals placing 10's in the second digit from the right, 100's in the third digit from the right, etc., as well as the concept of zero, came into use later. I think that was an Arabic invention.
at mine the conductor was somewhat awkward and minimal and there were nervous chuckles from the audience.

At the recent SAD day in London Ohio USA this past weekend, they covered the beard issue in the WT 'summary'. The speaker made it plain that if the good-example brothers pictured in the WT magazine were shown with beards, it would be 'accepted locally', but until that happens, beards would not be acceptable. Anyone with a beard would 'bring into question their privileges'. They didn't leave much room for doubt.

Excellent. I have a book of WW1 poems which I like a lot. Siegfried Sassoon, Wilfred Owen, John McCrae, lots of others. Most of them died either in the war or in hospital later.

I was involved with a non-profit for a while, and we signed up our 501 c3 with smile.amazon. It didn't really catch on with our membership, but if enough people participated, it could add up to quite a donation. Basically, Amazon donates fifty cents for every $100 purchased (0.50%) to the buyers selected charity. The money is transferred electronicallly to our non-profit's bank account.
