  I waded through it about ten years ago. It's a lot like reading the Psalms twice, three times, ten times in a row. One Surat is much like another. At least the one I had contained a lot of footnotes that explained the historical references that made it more interesting.

  where are all these kingdom halls that were going to start being built?

  the rbc arrangement was officially announced as an arrangement that was ending in the united states branch territory in a letter on january 24, 2014 (although this letter is no longer listed on jw.org).

  this means that 23 months have passed since the announcement of the ldc taking over and "acceleration" of kingdom hall builds.. what has happened in the meantime with kh construction?

  The entire KH land grab is based on the continual building with volunteer labor, sell off the property after a decade or two, then repeat. With a moratorium on building, the whole process is at a standstill. The entire purpose of the land grab is thwarted until the building of KH's is resumed.

  i thought that the 1975 thing started in the mid to late 60's, but it seems the seeds were sown two decades earlier.is this the earliest reference to it?.

  It is curious how often the leaders of a religious belief of the 'end' build up their hype with the end date about 30-40 years in the future when they will be old. It's like they are setting their life's work ahead of them. Examples, William Miller 1844, Charles Russell 1914, Fred Franz 1975.

  i took another look around the new website ( https://www.watchtowerbrooklynrealestate.com/ ).

  first they have two properties listed here 124 columbia and 85 jay street.

  these have to be worth a lot of money.

  If they keep a moratorium on KH builds for too long, it will come back and bite them eventually. The whole scene relies on the assumption they will resell the halls in time, keep the proceeds, and build another with donated labor. If they don't resume the new builds, they will be left holding the aging buildings and maintenance. Some are lost thru fire and disaster too and they don't carry insurance.

  satan and devil mean "resister" and can be apllied to other people.

  JWs, UFO's, demons, and the book "The Dark Gods"

  i have been looking into this issue that (many/most/all/etc) ufos are caused by demons as seems to be said by jws.

  some time ago when i browsed this site i read a posting where someone recommended a book titled "the dark gods" by roberts and gilbertson (here is a link to the book at amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/dark-gods-anthony-roberts/dp/009138771x).. besides that one there are a couple of other books that i have checked (one of these is "operation trojan horse" by john keel and the other one is "a guide to the paranormal" by magnus raven).

  both of these say the same thing although they approach this issue from different directions.. looking at the amazon reviews for "the dark gods" it looks like it also says the same thing but the book is out of print.

  Other than a few crackpots, I don't recall any JWs saying that UFOs were demons. There's always the loony ones, though. The books on the OP sound interesting, worth a look.

  Kingdom Farm in S Lansing NY sold for 2.8 million in March, 2015 - news article

  this is probably old news and was commented about in early 2015, but the ithaca news reported on the 3/15 sale of kingdom farm in s lansing ny.

  this is the property that was directly across the road from the old gilead site, which had sold a number of years ago.

  but about 500 acres still was operated by the jws as kingdom farm.
