i don't have all the details of their new "service year" numbers, but i have read enough on jwn to state my opinion pretty strongly.. memorial attendance for 2015 was down.while they kept saying they were going to build a bunch of new kingdom halls, and everybody is still in recovery from watchtower taking all the local money away, they say pretty much that there isn't enough money to build new kingdom halls.putting gb members on the videos at jw .

org has allowed people to really put a face and personality to these guys and remove the mystery of how they should be such deeply spiritual serious men.

instead they see silly thoughts about tight pants and, really everything that comes out of lett's mouth is delivered ultra-goofy, along with the money reports.. the gb lost credibility a little more with every new light that shone down, with the strangest one being "overlapping generation.

Baptisms at a SAD this weekend ( Midwest US) :

5 baptized out is about 1050 attendance. I wasn't there, so I don't know who they were.

Spanish defenders of the Watchtower? (Or other languages!)

are there any unofficial watchtower defenders publishing in spanish?

i'm doing a survey and i think i've got most of those writing in english covered.

then there's gerard gertoux and a few others in french, furuli from norway, matteo pierro in italian, johannes wrobel and others in german.

Can't help any with this. I have often wondered if the jw/ex JW dialogue were similar in other languages.

I would guess that Spanish speakers outnumber English among JWs, considering the populations in south and central America, as well as Spain and the Phillipines.

some people point out the subliminal pictures in the wtbts publications but sometimes things are just so obvious, such as the title of the book above.. the person who came up with the title for this book must have had a good old laugh.. interestingly, this book first came out in 1988 and has not been included in the online library but nothing has replaced it.

the org is really going backwards when they ditch old light and cannot come up with anything new.

they are real wankers ;)..

some people point out the subliminal pictures in the wtbts publications but sometimes things are just so obvious, such as the title of the book above.. the person who came up with the title for this book must have had a good old laugh.. interestingly, this book first came out in 1988 and has not been included in the online library but nothing has replaced it.

If I am not mistaken, Pastor Russell's first pamphlet (don't remember the name of it) was about the anti-typical interpretation of the ark in the wilderness. The material he wrote then was later included in one of the Studies in the Scriptures, volume 4 or 5. He didn't invent the typology about the ark, in fact there are other religions who still use the idea. But the Russellite's went wild with it and found interpretations in almost everything they looked at. I used to have Paul S.L. Johnson's series called 'Epiphany Studies in the Scriptures' and it is hundreds and hundreds of pages of type/antitype interpretations. Very foolish sounding now, but it illustrates the extent to which the Bible Student (and JW) movement was invested in the type/antitype thinking.

The fraud that is the WT member numbers

ok i'm just thinking out load here so to speak.

but let say in the year 2000 the wt says they have 1 million publishers and at the end of the year they say they had 300,000 people get baptized so in the beginning of the year 2001 they show 1,300,000 publishers.

then in this new year they state another 300,000 get baptized but with 50,000 deaths and 50,000 disfellowshippings they stated at the end of year 2001 a total of 1,500,000 total members.

The WT maintains that a 'publisher' is a Witness and someone who isn't a publisher is not a Witness. In this context a publisher is one who has reported time in at least one of the past six months. Some of these are baptized and some are not. One thing that happens frequently to appear as growth is when former publishers who have become inactive start to go again. I think it fair to say that many of the 19 million memorial attenders are former publishers. The WT would love to have these ones start up again, but most will not. They attend the Memorial once a year for family reasons only.

Is it true that they decided not to build Walkill Recreation center and then buried the foundation?

i saw this on ex jw reddit:"this may not be news to you but it was to me.

forgive me if this has already been posted before.

it came from a reliable source working on the warwick project.. wallkill bethel had broken ground and laid the foundation for a new recreation building.

If they postponed the building of a rec hall after starting the foundation, it could be uncovered later and used with no harm done. A little unusual, perhaps, but not crazy.

I hadn't seen the article of 3/15/15 wt which negates the type-anti types. That' s very recent!

I had noticed that they had not mentioned it for some years ( usually a tip-off that a change is coming), but had not seen an official retraction.

This change illustrates how the religion is not the same anymore. Types were a staple of many religions, not just JWs, for years. It was the underlying basis for most of the books 30's thru 70's.

no wonder they don't have much to write about anymore.
