The overlap generation explanation has got to be at the top, or near the top, of the list.

by minimus ini think the finished mystery book probably contains the stupidest beliefs ever recorded!
almost any prophecy publication but especially anything to do with revelation, is unbelievable!

I'll pray for you
by I quit! inone thing over the years social media has made me painfully aware of is how many times i see someone use the phrase "i'll pray for you" and the outcome is bad.
recently a friend of mine who at one time was my manager where i worked got cancer.
a lot of people were praying for him.

I wish that prayers made a difference. I the off-chance that they do, I encourage all to include me in their prayers.

I was an MS for 10+ years and an elder for 3. In all those years I never once conducted the Watchtower.
If an MS was to conduct, I suspect it would be because of extremely unusual circumstances. I would also suspect that the MS that conducted the Watchtower would be a major arse-kisser.

How serious is sexting
by Homer notsimpson insome of y'all may know why i am asking this, but i am curious about it.. sexting in the elders book says it's enough to warrant a jc but it's very loose at it... what's y'all opinion?
do elders care alot of it?

Saethydd,
I know of at least one case of a person being disfellowshipped for it.
You got to be kidding. If I was going to be disfellowshipped for some sexual issue I would at least expect an exchange of body fluids. Otherwise, what is the point?

Reading Journal To Bethel
by Cold Steel inray publisherer interviewed one-time bethelite peon "brock talon" about four years ago and i'm now reading talon's book journey to bethel.
for those of you who may not be jws (and even those who were and are), that journey provides a fascinating insight into the pecking order at "god's house"... at least how it was in the early 80s.
and it's a book even the rank-and-file faithful would find amusing.

I have read the book and can give a strong recommendation. Even as an oldtimer in the JW religion, I learned a few things reading this book.

Which Watchtower publications did you keep?
by Schnufti ini'm currently cleaning up our bookcase and need to decide what goes into the trash.
i'll keep the watchtower books that are not available online anymore (e.g.
the brown "reasoning" book).

I have the aid book, the thick green bible - the one published in the 60s, and a few very old pre-1914 publications that belonged to my grandfather.

Anyone Heard Any Good DEMON Stories Lately?

My ex-wife screamed at me that I had demons flying through my head.
I know that is not a "great" or even "good" demon story, but it's all I got.

Do you find it therapeutic coming to this site?
by UnshackleTheChains ini read on another thread how this site has helped another user and that for them it has been a form of therapy.. for me yes, jwn has most certainly been a form of therapy.. i recall the days i first came to jwn (in 2004) and couldn't believe i had found people who were of the same opinion as myself in regards to the society.
it was this site that led me to reading ray franz's book 'crisis of conscience' which i read twice within a week.
it also led me to jw facts that goes into every nook and cranny regarding the society's teachings, policies and history.. note: i also visit many other sites and watch you tube videos a lot, but gravitate here most of the time.. coming here to express my inner most thoughts and feelings has helped me no end and allows me to overcome my frustrations.

Signing on to the JWN site is a part of my life and has been for 12+ years. It is rare that a day passes that I don't sign on. While I don't post in each of my visits, I keep up with the major discussions.
Thank you to all who participate. You are all a lifesaver.

Do you have enough guts to play the Ouija board game???
by James Mixon inif so you are now free!!!!!!!!
i could sit in a secluded cabin, in a thunder storm and no lights, all alone with no fear of demons jumping out of the woodworks....evil spirits can play hell in your life, what a relief......

I would play the game. Unfortunately, I know at this point what the game is - and it is not the demons.
