I think my last memorial was 2003. It may have been 2004, but who's counting?

Memorial Non-Attendance: The Single Most Impactful TTATT Witness to JW Friends & Family
by AMNESIANO in(original version posted 2014).
notice: the following is submitted in full recognition of and with compassion and due respect for those who, due to personal circumstance, feel they are unable to employ this powerful strategy.. ---.
anyone who has awakened to ttatt and has conscientiously left the organization--especially a once-prominent, highly-regarded, studious true-believer from a celebrated multi-generational tribe of jws-- after decades of devout, high-profile "serve-us," who continues to put in an annual appearance at the memorial thoroughly subverts and undermines, by this one act, any hope s/he may entertain that his/her departure will stir family or former friends to question the whole watchtower bamboozle.

Why is sex a taboo subject to be discussed about?
by googleTTATT inpeople are having it very well.
so why is it not discussed?.

The act of sex is far more interesting than talking about sex. I don't do much talking, I am a man of action.

Dad Turns 70 Today
by neverendingjourney inand i can't wish him a happy birthday.
they converted when i was an infant, so birthdays were never a thing for us.
still, i'd love to be able to throw him a party, surround him with friends and family, and show him how much he's appreciated.

Has anyone here joined a different church after ditching the JWs?
by NikL ini am just curious.. i have a cousin who is a baptist and his church streams their sunday services and i've been checking them out before i go to meeting with my jw wife.. i haven’t been to a church except for the occasional funeral and wedding and the only sermons i had heard were the tel-evangelist type.
anyway, all the church bashing by jws over the years made me unsure what to expect and i was pleasantly surprised.
they do use the bible and they don't spend the whole time begging for money.

In the journey of my escape from the JWs, I discovered that I was not religious. So, I never had a desire to even consider another religion or church.

Interest rates are up again.
by Fisherman inany economy people here who can explain how this will affect us economy?.
-
NewYork44M
You need to put this into perspective. In 1979 my first mortgage was 8.5%. A few years later interest rate peaked well into the teens. I had a 12.5% mortgage interest rate for a few years.
We still have interest rates that are the lowest in generations, if not the history of modern finance. I have no idea what will happen over the next few years, but we are still seeing historically low-interest rates.

How many years did you waste away in the Org?
by Tallon inin my case; 27 years.
7 of which were as a ministerial serpent ... sorry, i mean 'servant' ;).
-

I was born in. I awakened when I was 35 and finally disengaged at age 45. It would be a mistake to say that every year was a waste. But many were.

Does Anyone Know The "Real" Attitude That JWs Have Towards "Inactive Ones"?
by minimus indoes the rank and file or the elders view us as disassociated or disfellowshipped or simply "weak" or possibly a "prodigal son" type?.
-

The view of the inactive is forgotten. I don't think it takes long to be fully forgotten by the r&f. -

GETTING FIRED VS QUITTING
by TerryWalstrom ingetting fired vs quitting_________________________my specialties in life are great and many, but none more fabulous than the talent i've possessed for getting fired and/or quitting a job.how many jobs and careers i blazed through would spin your head!
suffice it to say, more than you've time or patience to hear.. there is something in my psychology and verbal arsenal too prone toward candid criticism!
i find myself blurting out what i really think before even i can stop myself.i worked for an art gallery owner once who had everything going for him except good sense.

If a person reaches a "certain" age and never been fired it is probably because they are leading a much too cautious life.
I have quit and/or been fired a few times in my life. In more than one situation there was little distinction between the words of quitting or being fired. Let's just say we mutually agreed to move on.
