  Old Relative Not Happy About Push To Use Ipads Etc

  i was in a close relatives house yesterday and she was having angry and resentful at the push to use electronic devices at the meetings.

  she was talking to another relative of mine who has just got an ipad to use.

  this relative of mine is very elderly and obviously prefers to use her bible and other books.

  Question about baptism around 1973- can anyone answer for me?

  i am hoping someone will take a look at this and be able to help me with my question.. i was baptized in 1973, you know, because i was a teenager and old enough to stand on my own when armageddon descended in 1975. .

  perhaps elders, or any former elders especially, but anyone who was around then could help me with this question, because i honestly don't recall, and really need to know.. what were the baptismal questions the candidates responded to back then?

  were we still asked if we repented of our sins, turned around, and were being baptized in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit?.

  I was also baptized in 1973 - in Muncie Indiana. I don't remember what I agreed to.

  JWs standing on mats whilst Cart Witnessing

  i've come across a guy on youtube that has been approaching numerous jws in public cart witnessing.

  actually, calling it witnessing is beyond a joke because most of the time they are just standing there and in the case of this youtuber, they walk away in silence or turn their heads.the youtuber is not a jw and i don't think he ever was, he calls himself a christian and i don't think he is affiliated with any particular religion.there is one video where he shows about 4 jws standing on a square plate with a yellow marking on the edge, they each have their own plate.

  i am curious as to why they are standing on these?

  I was in the subway in NY yesterday and noticed that the cart people have chairs and were sitting. I guess there is no rule that the need to stand.

  There must be a lot of intensive fear rumbling through Bethel. I wonder is the Bethelites already know their fate; Can you imaging listening to this talk and not knowing if you are on the short list to go! Talk about stress.

  What do they mean when they say "older?" Are they talking about kicking out those in their 50s and 60s? How about those in their 70s and beyond? Either way it is very sad.

  It took two tries but I was able to finally get through this cringe-worthy video.

  I don't think the society has any concept of personal finance. How on earth could this couple own a well furnished home while they were both pioneering? I smell high credit card debt. It is highly doubtful that they could get under the mountain of debt to simplify lives.

  It is much easier to get into debt as compared to getting out of debt.

  But I am sure this video will be met with applause and tears when shown to the r&f.

  I would ask him to explain the overlapping generation.

  I would also ask why a religion is the "one true religion" when I was lied to my whole life. How can lies and truth be part of the same construct?

  apart from the usual hilarious jw tv stuff, i haven't heard of anything.. any info any one?

  when i was a teenager in the borg i was a dyed in the wool, goody two shoes, squeaky clean,"spiritual " sister.

  alot of my peers around me were rebelling and going off the rails but not me.

  i was constantly praised for this and even felt a little smug about it ha!.

  Count me in on the group you describe. Always sat in the front row of the KH with the other "good" kids and believed the crap that was forced onto me. If only we have a chance to relive our past.
