  Prepare for meetings??

  do you prepare for meetings?

  if i go i spend a few minutes underlinging my books/watchtower.. i have noticed that those who do the micks especially notice when your stuff is not underlined, and comments are made after the meeting, not so gentle hints, about study and preperation!

  in other words i am being told off, its usually the ones who are highly critical of everything i do, sometimes their whole family seems to be straining to see if my stuff is underlined, i know this because i heard the daughter to family wisper her watchtower is not underlined!.

  Yes exactly. I sit in on elders meetings where this topic is brought up periodically "the spirituality of the cong is down....mid week service not supported....nobody prepares for meetings (how do they know? oh they don't underline anything)" It is so stupid to assume that just because someone didnt mark or underline the material in some way they did not read it. JWs are judgemental and hypocritical for sure.

  I think love is different from a man wanting to frack every woman he sees. I think there is a lot of confusion over caring for a person's well being and choosing to live with them and raise a family and wanting sex to pass on genes which is mostly chemical and hormonal in nature. This is why men, whilst happily married, still have the desire to have sex with every hot woman he sees. Come on men, confess, the desire is in all of us. Fortunately most men dismiss the thoughts.

  WT is increasing due to birth's and foreign speakers in Western lands not from over zealous pioneers or publishers. Also new cong's can be formed when they disolve and condense.

  i have been noticing in recent threads that people have been observing that the zeal has been waning among r+f jws.

  i have observed that most zealous, die hards have gone to foreign lands, or foreign language congregations, leaving the others in the stagnant english congregations.

  when you think of it, if you cared at all about bringing people into the cult, you probably would be preaching where it is fertile, the foreign field.

  This religion needs to become more "mainstream" to keep its adherents. Times have changed, its not the late 1800's-early 1900's anymore. Nobody really cares about religion anymore particularly here in the U.S. I still go out in the ministry (I know, I know how can I..) and based on most reactions that I get from people they could care less about doctrines or for example Christmas being unscriptural (everyone knows that already), or Jesus is god or isn't he (besides pentacostals). Religion is a joke now, its 2014 people care about so many other things nowdays. They need to cut down the 1 weekday meeting that they have now or eliminate it and make Sundays 2-2.5 hrs and incorporate some of the TMS and Service meeting. People would be much, much happier. If they do this I think people might be ok so they are a little weird but mostly like us.

  Perfect JW family...husband an elder, wife pioneers, kids are on the Theocratic School at a young age, publishers at a young age, baptized early. Used on demo's for assemblies, conventions. However wife secretly has a drinking problem and hubby jacks off to porn when everyone is asleep at night because his stuffy, sex-less wife wont put out because she can't stand him and he never gives her the big O.

  Brother Mike,

  You should be asking this question to the brothers and sisters in your congregation since we are all by WT definition "apostates". Why don't you go to one of the elders in your congregation, preferably your CBSO, and inquire. Mention that you were on this site and that you did not get satisfactory answers. Let us know how that works out.

  because of this it's becoming tempting to privately share my views with friends, but i know this is still too dangerous.

  I think that morale is lowering but enough die harders" are still around to keep whipping up the masses into a frothy, whipped confection. In my congregation all except for 4 of the elders out of 11 on our body are pioneering. They breathe, speak, eat, and shit WTism. The Coordinator is such a WT man that he watches and counsels any elder or servant that doesnt follow instructions from mother to the tee! Among the lay people I do agree about morale slipping a bit but the threat of being socially ostrasized keeps most in line. I do agree with the poster that each successive generation of children born to WTites will take it less and less seriously. Unfortunately things will likely change very little in our lifetimes.

  a friend of mine called me yesterday and he told me about a special meeting up at the assembly hall in newburgh, ny regarding the warwick project this passed saturday that all elders and ministerial servants living within a 55 mile radius were invited to.

  he told me a lot of stuff but the gist of it was:.

  A friend of mine called me yesterday and he told me about a special meeting up at the assembly hall in Newburgh, NY regarding the Warwick project this passed Saturday that all elders and ministerial servants living within a 55 mile radius were invited to. He told me a lot of stuff but the gist of it was:

  1. Volunteer to work

  2. If you can't, send money

  3. Don't be critical of those who are

  a. volunteering

  b. sending in funds

  4. Open up your homes to volunteers who need a place to stay for days, weeks, months if needed.

  Scheduled date for completion is December 31, 2016

  He told me a lot, but most was WT propoganda designed to guilt you or fool you into supporting an unnecessary and ill conceived project. I gave you the main points that he stated to me.

  So lame....we have this project and you idiots need to give up your time and money to support it. What was wrong with Brooklyn?
