People are as mean as mad dogs but as sensitive as sick babies.
It's no good for evolution. Not good at all.
i got the biggest wtf look on my face when my coworker said this to me a week ago.
she actually felt comforted with the fact that the sinners of this world 'will just have to go.
' how is the comforting..

What does not look true to you?

What do you mean "what am I looking at?"

How? It is not comforting but it looks like it is true.
Jesus said there would be them who go off into destruction.
People who assume, think it means they will be executed.
But it means they will not listen to the Prince of Peace and they
go off and cause destruction. What you reap, you sow. Sow hate?
You are a goat. Sow love? You are a sheep. When all the goats reap
hate and destruction what will happen to the sheep?
I don't know, but I think I am right on to believe there is just the one Earth.
Great post! Jesus said to enter into the kingdom of God one must become like a child.
http://biblos.com/luke/18-17.htm
"Reasonable expectation how long?" For a child. 5 minutes.
From heaven's point of reference I quess 40 years.
But absolute longest? I quess 120 years. Tops.
i am not sure how old this is, it was just posted on youtube.
the convention shown is from 2002. the former elder starting at around 5:50 in part one really reveals jw practices.
i have only watched part one when i posted this, but will watch all parts.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idyh2toeuvy.
For them who have been abused, please never more take the quilt on you own.
Be brave and tell the truth. And find the help you need. And stick atound to see justice done.
It will happen. Please do not blame yourself for telling the truth.
it's clear that virtually everyone on here is infuriated by wt teachings/doctrines/practices, but i would really like to know what is of most concern to people who frequent this forum.. here is my top 5, number 1 being the most significant/infuriating:.
the disfellowshipping practice - expanded to include family members (but not parents) who are old enough to leave home.
wrecks families and creates abject fear once people find out the truth about the organization.the blood issue - another unmerciful teaching, but one that costs lives.unquestioned authority of governing body - a handful of men make life-altering decisions as representatives of a larger group of people who they never see or speak to, and yet they demand unquestioning obedience on pain of being disfellowshipped.failed prophecy - the fulfilment of huge swathes of bible prophecy, including revelation, has been attributed to the events of the early 20th century, and the actions of a small group of men.two-tier christianity - faithful and discreet slave are anointed who go to heaven to whom ransom provisions apply directly, whereas remainder, or "great crowd" stay on earth and form a sub-class, only access benefits of ransom through fds.i realise that many of these issues are inter-related, but that's roughly how i would put them.
You are right cedars. I reread your post. I do not let the Watchtower irritate me
any more, so I assumed you may have meant then. I am far far away from them.
If I let them irritate me, that would be legerdemain. They do not care about me, let them be.
it is very interesting for me to read about people who are working their way through raymond franz's books.
i remember reading them about ten years ago and found them hugely helpful at what was a very difficult time for me.
i did not have free access to the internet back then so those books were the only glimpse of what went on, i mean what really went on, in the watchtower hq.
I believe they are weighing their investment. I stayed around for a while
even after I learned it was not "the truth" because I wanted to be there
for others like me. But I did not perceive that there was anyone like me. Then they
said to me officially, obey the Governing Body, so I said "now I can clean out my closet"
as I walked away from the readjustment meeting of brothers and one said
"do you know what this means?" Yup! I can clean out my closet. I did say that.
And it must of been the right thing to say because I am not disfellowshiped. Jealous?

Hello again! I think the original poster is asking about when you were there before
you knew the truth about them. How did you feel about the doctrine/practices then?
Some of the posters, it seems to me (I could be wrong-don't hurt me), are projecting back
what they know now. It will be more interesting to me if you can post what it was then
that you did not like. Before the revelation. Do a little time travel. It should be fun!

I got a better #2. When someone is disciplined or disfellowshipped fellow members can't talk about it, so you can't help and can't know if the decision against them was fair. And the spirit in the congregation about the person is bad, but you can't say anything. Just when they need help the most, they get cut off.
