Some initial results from the 2012 global survey (beliefs and practices disagreed with)
by cedars inhi folks.
i'm just in the process of compiling all the information gathered on the global survey on jwsurvey.org, which was held between february and december 2012.. i thought some of you might like a "sneak peak" at the results of the final question in the survey, which relates to the society's teachings and practices that are disagreed with.. here is a link to the pdf of these figures.... http://jwsurvey.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/2012-survey-results-beliefs-and-practices.pdf.
it's interesting to note that the same issues occupy 1st, 2nd and 3rd place as in the previous year's survey (see the 2011 results, page 23).

Exclusive Brethren video on YouTube
by cedars inhi guys.
i'm trying to broaden my horizons a little by learning about other cults.
i've spent the past couple of weeks reading up on scientology (with the help of the excellent book "going clear" by lawrence wright), and this morning i found a fascinating bbc film on youtube about the exclusive brethren.. there are only about 1 million exclusive brethren around the world (mostly focussed in the uk, north america, new zealand and australia), but their cult-like attributes are shockingly similar to those of the jws.

Top 41 JW books (according to Amazon sales rankings, selected by me)
by cedars inhi guys.
i'm doing a bit of research this evening into jw-related books, specifically the ones that are selling well on amazon.
amazon doesn't release the actual sales figures for these books for competitive reasons, but it does give you a ranking number to give you some idea of how well the books are doing against eachother.. here's a list (highest ranked first) of some of the best selling jw books on amazon.

Church of England demonstrates that top-down intervention/reform over child abuse policies IS possible...
by cedars inthe following article appears on the bbc's website at this link:.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-19425149.
obviously the cases identified by the cofe report (involving priests) will not be mirrored entirely by all instances of how child abuse is handled among jehovah's witnesses.
