Need Help: What Would You Try to Tell Current JW's?
by daringhart13 ini've been journaling a lot the past couple of years....it was recommended to me by a therapist when my anger was boiling over.. so recently i decided to start an exercise: what would you tell them if they would listen?.
i've started listing my top 10 and it's interesting......i'm over all of the doctrinal insanity.....i'm forever indebted to the more scholarly among us that have put so much effort into research, writing, etc.!!!.
mine all focused on more 'human' subjects....emotions, pain, etc.

JW Bombshell Seeds
by snare&racket inthough it is true that one conversation or one jw bombshell will unlikely rock a member from the cult, we are all here as a result of leaving or realising the lies we were fed, doubtless all the bombshells we heard or considered contributed to us leaving.. there seems to be a lot of apathy here at the moment that facts and information are not enough to convince a jw of the lies in watchtower.. this is not true.
even if one missile does not bring down the wall, it contributes to its fall.. information empowers people, it is the most valuble asset in the war on cults.
it may not sink the boat immediatly, but we know it springs leaks.

But, they're so HAPPY!
by stillin inyou can't deny it.
smiling and brimming with good cheer.
is it sort of like the person who buys a lemon of a car and won't admit it?

Are the Witnesses Really Losing Their Young People?
by What Now? inthat article about jehovah's witnesses having the lowest retention rate for born ins keeps popping up every now again ... i'm just curious if any of you have noticed that this is actually the case.
in the congregation that i grew up in, i'm going to say that 95% of the young people in their teens to mid twenties are either regular pioneering, regular auxiliary pioneering, serving in foreign language congregations or where the need is greater.
both of my younger sisters are regular pioneers - and the young people in their hall even organize 8 pm to midnight service on friday nights of their own accord.

Wanted - A 'Reverse Witness'
by The Song Remains The Same inso the want-to-be-jw wife is getting harder to keep from believing all the nonsense that the wt spouts.
it is really getting me down as it simply does not compute from my perspective (and many on here i suppose) how and why rational and sane individuals would swallow all the garbage... the phrase i hate the most is "imperfect men", it gets me so wound up when i point out the flip-flops and flaws, and then i ask how anyone would follow 'imperfect men'... up next is "but i truely believe they are god's chosen organisation", but i cannot find any basis for that belief whatsoever... arrgghhh.
she went to some big meeting last weekend and came back all happyified.

Governing Body Taking It To The Limit With Reguards To Rank And File Gullibility, How Far Will They Go?
by frankiespeakin inwhen you look at the new governing body and what they are dishing out to the rank and file, it shows that they are taking their gullibilty to the limits.. they appeal only to this gullibilty with tremendous leaps in logic they read the mind of god and tell the rank and file, what makes jehovah sad(for 3year old mentality), what all the issues are in heaven that are invisible to human eyes, their take on this "universal soverneingty" completely invisible and unsubstantiated by any degree of logic, composed of wishful thinking thought projections of a fantacy, and this makes up everything in their whole theology on which they proceed as a starting point.. the rank and file for the most part are eating this up, some are awakening because of this babel that is comming from the top ceos of this corporation, will the trickle become a flood as the governing body plays the gullibility card to the max?
time will tell, as time is already telling us they are more and more relying on the gullibility of the rank and file with no limits in sight.. what will they do when their delusional thinking and resulting bullshit found in their communications to the rank and file reach a tipping point and are causing great losses for their corporation?
that ought to be very interesting to watch.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/sheeple.

James 2:26 - "faith without works is dead"
by leaving_quietly ini was contemplating this verse this morning... what did james mean by "works"?
and it hit me like a bolt of lightning.. now, wts would have us believe these "works" are preaching and meetings.
however, could that be what james was referring to?

Jehovah's Witnesses v Scientologists - 36 min. YouTube
by Gayle inhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?nr=1&feature=endscreen&v=ie3e-ox3nmi.
these two organizations are "cult" cousins!
(though perhaps scientology is a bit worse - but they're both horrific).

WTS vs. Star Trek
by Farkel instar trek claimed to be fantasy and in fact, was fantasy.. wts claims to be the sole truth on earth and in fact, is fantasy.. star trek had spock who solved problems with logic.. wts has a gb who solves problems with bullshit.. star trek had a pompous ass charismatic leader whom everyone loved to watch rant and emote.
wts had three pompous ass charismatic leaders whom everyone hated to watch rant and emote.. captain kirk was always saving his people from new disasters.. wt leaders are always leading its people into new disasters.. star trek made money by always giving its fans the stuff they wanted.. wts makes money by always charging its fans for stuff neither they nor anyone else else wants.. people had fun when star trek came on.. people would rather have a root canal when meetings come on.. star trek was all about making the cosmos a better place for all.. wts is all about making the cosmos a better place for a few and killing everyone else.. people love to go to star trek conventions.. people would rather be in an earthquake than go to wts conventions.. star trek had a transporter room.. people in meetings wish they also had a transporter room.. star trek had lots of insane villains.. wts had judge rutherford and fred franz.
same thing.. star trek also had lots of good guys.. good guys are banished from the wts.. star trek had the klingons who spoke a bizarre language.. wts had fred franz who spoke an even more bizarre language.. star trek had all sorts of devices which could cure most any medical problems, but of course, they were science fiction.. wts had the electronic radio biola which it sold and said could cure most any medical problem, but of course, that was science fiction.. star trek had floppy disks, computers you could talk to and flat screen monitors all of which were about 50 years ahead-of-their time.. wts had vaccines which were called "filthy animal pus", humans hearts which were the seat of all emotions, organ transplants which were cannibalistic, human personalities which were also transferred with blood transfusions and black people turning white by reading their literature, all of which were 100 years behihd-their-time.. if you missed a few star trek episodes in a row, no one came by to harrass you.. if you miss a few meetings in a row, you are in deep shit.. star trek tv shows and movies are still played all the time, even after 47 years.. wts dramas never even play a second time.
