Overlapping gymnastics you ask? How about: If a generation could overlap once, why not twice, three times ... or any number of times? How many do we need? Are we there yet?
Rinse, lather, repeat ... To Infinity and Beyond!
ok, so the one scripture that supports the "overlapping generations" doctrine is the one about joseph having brothers, right?.
well, then, logically, if that scripture buttresses the glorious new light - and we know how long that "generation" was - we should be able to calculate the date for armageddon, no?.
allowing for a maximum period starting with the year of the birth of the eldest brother (reuben if i'm not mistaken), and ending with the year of the death of the youngest (benjamin, correct?

i attended the school late last year, and it was an emotional and mental rollercoaster for me.
i was already divided in my heart to say the least.
one of the instructors stayed in my home for the week, and my family genuinely enjoyed his company.
Wow, the average publishers has to go through 8 layers to get to Jehovah.
Such nonsense! Funny I believed this crap for a while.

What a mis-application of the Abraham & Isaac attempted sacrifice! That at least had an illustrative purpose. And--at least according to the common explanation--both were willing parties.
What does that have to do with the GB being absolutely wrong about things!
I noticed they did NOT ask the question, "How would God view you if YOU were RIGHT and the GB were wrong?"
Finally, what's with the whole FDS myth. I never really sank in until recently, there is not even an attempted explanation of how the anointed throughout the world are supposed to be involved in leading and directing this organization! It's just the GB and their favorite go-to cronies.
Speaking of that, isn't it interesting the Governing Body isn't even listed on the chart which was posted ever day!
What's up with that?
please help me understand the dynamics of it.
how do you go from being intimate to becoming buddies?
i have always been better at being a friend than being in a relationship.
Trying to put parameters on human relationships almost never works.
i recieved a letter from my jw friend a few days ago who encouraged me to return to the organisation.
she quoted the following scripture, and although i think its a great one, the jw view of it is twisted.. lord, whom shall we go away to?
(john 6:66-69) this is the one organization he is using" (wt 75, 9/1, p.531).
"'Biblical truth' and 'organizational teachings' become merged as essentially equivalent, one and the same, in the minds of most Witnesses, and it is the continued drumming of organizational superiority and authority into their thoughts that proceeds this mental mix-up" - Ray Franz, "In Search of Christian Freedom", p. 103

I just found this quote by Ray Franz from "In Search of Christian Freedom":
"In the minds and speech of most Witnesses the common tendency is to think and speak in terms of 'Jehovah and his organization' with Christ Jesus given only subordinate mention. Holy Spirit seldom merits even that mention." - In Search of Christian Freedom, p. 103
i know... how cool would that be??!.
having just commented on the post by trailerfitter about the situation with his wife, and how i have personally found the book crisis of conscience by ray franz to be the perfect antidote to the society's perception of itself as being god's earthly organisation, the thought occurred to me: what if there was a movie about ray franz and his life?
obviously the society would be in uproar, and letters would be read out to all congregations all over the world not to go and see it, but just imagine!
The reference to "The Firm" got me thinking. How ironic would it be for Tom Cruise, an out-spoken Scientologist, to play a part in a movie about JWs!
hahahaha!!!.
since being disfellowshipped on thursday, i have already come into contact with some jw's.
some experiences have been heartwarming!!!
Being dub-snubbed gives you a new perspective on Witless theology:
They (JWs) can SEE you but pretend you're INVISIBLE. Christ's Presence, on the other hand is INVISIBLE, but they (JWs) pretend they can SEE it.
It all makes sense now doesn't it!
Welcome to reality. Enjoy the ride, but you better buckle up. It might get a bit bumpy at times!!!
Woohoo,
Daniel

If it ever were made into a movie, you can be sure there would be a WT Study Article forbidding "the faithful" from watching it.

Who would wear a tie with a flannel shirt. Now THAT should be a disfellowshipping offense!
