i am watching "independence day" which is one of my favorite movies - i watch it every time it comes on television.
i also really like "beetlejuice," "the american president," and several others that i admit are cheesy but a great deal of fun.

I also love Sweet Home Alabama and What a Girl Wants (I think it's a little girl's movie, but I just love it. Maybe I just love Colin Firth. my 9 year old granddaughter calls me when it's on)

when i was growing up, i remember my parents would put those plastic "cover" things over my sisters panties and put those protective sheets on the bed to help them with potty training.
especially when they were doing great with using the potty on their own during the daytime.. my aunt in texas would beat her kids arses if they wet the bed.
(now i do not agree with this way).

I used cloth diapers too. Disposables were really, really expensive, not very good, (60's and 70's) and most people only used them for when they traveled.

I have done extensive research on my family history. There are lots and lots of websites.
One of the best is www.familysearch.orgIt's the Mormon site and if anyone in your family or ancestry has done the research, it will be in their files. It is free too. They have some census records, including UK 1881.
I have paid at www.ancestry.com and found lots there too. You can access census records wayyyy back for a fee. You can pay for a month, or six months, or a year, so it's not a bad deal.
Google Cyndi's list too. Very good info. I don't have the URL but it should be easy to find.
Most states have good genealogy searches too. http://www.usgenweb.com
Also, you can search on your family name on a blog (very good one) at www.genforum.com
we have had company (ex jw's) from england, for six days and they left early this morning to go home.. it was a great week.
they met our entire family, we went camping, a day trip to the san juan islands, and it was so much fun.
it was like a six day party.. and...........except for some funny stories about conventions in the 60's, we didn't even talk about having been jw's.
I know it is sometimes hard when you have company, especially an Englishman to understand them when they talk to you.
Ye, the language is similar, but by no means the same.
We had many good laughs over the different nuances and outright major differences. Same words, but very different meanings.
