Qcmbr has just explained how my partner got hooked. She cried and wanted to know why this world is so hard at times,...ever since witnessing this I have seen before my eyes a massive change in my wife, she is dependant on spiritual food. I said it would poison her but she doesn't listen to be. I don't think she has any emotion for me now and only LOVES Jehovah...

Have you ever successfully persuaded anyone?
by losthobbit ini've had many conversations with religious people and am always surprised that i am never able to get anyone to put their programmed beliefs aside and process the logic that proves how unreasonable their doctrines are.. so, i'm wondering, have you ever successfully persuaded someone to change their mind about something that they had been brainwashed with, and if so, how did you do it?.

I have noticed this ... I occationally, if I have time debunk the AWAKE mag "she" deliberately leaves lying around and the little statements from those who "have been found" my wife kept showing me, why I do not know why..
What I found rediculous was the language they use ...I mean it is written for children isn't it? It is written in the way a red top tabloid would write. In the UK the SUN has a reads age ability of 8 years old. The WT publications are wirtten for younger??
The persuation techniques are very easy to spot as most articles will guide the reader into thinking the information has been provided by the one true representative of god on earth.

Wasn't homosexuality outlawed along with eating shell fish in Deutaronmy?... I see JWs eating shellfish. Timmy I just read you story and t actually felt as if you'd made the right choice. You are human and the WT organisation are not humnitarians.
I came out as an Athiest not to long ago,...even if I haven't actually been a JW my partner is very close to being one. She pushed me over the edge by seeing exactly what the WT are.
In the UK there are so many folk who think they don't believe in god until they are faced with an ordeal then they turn to God for help...Ironic isn't it. Yes I was one of those sorts of people until I, realised what I was thinking and who god represents to me so I stood up and became human and responsible ofr myself without depending on gods judgement etc....
I am very happy for you if you are happy but relationships do need to be worked on to keep them alive. Thanks for posting this.

Compilation of the bible and the NWT translation source.

from what i understand it was actually compiled under emperor constantines request in the 4th century ad.
this was the nicene creed.. i also am aware that there quite a few books that were considered for inclusion but weren't.

Capt Kirk, you may know all this info and maybe old to you but after trawling you tube for information. I feel insulted on behalf of the narrator who is not an opportunist but is giving information to those who do not know about the WT. I was awre the masonic connection was there but not to this extent.... If we are to say things are taken out of contect then all quotes. biblical quotes all are!!!....
One thing I now realise is that the occult recognised |God great plan.. I studied some of Mme Blavatskis literature in my youth including the teachings of the Shambala, The plan is said in all earnest in thier prayer of protection.. I see that there was some connection. Unfortunately didn't make the connection until recently.

Hi there I spent some time understanding the feeling behind what you had written. My wife is heading very quickly to be baptised and I have tried everything to stop her from doing it. Our situation stand now. Teenager is becoming interested in satanism just to upset his mother. I tried not argueing and keeping my opinions to myself ( which doesn't work) to being sweet as pie to our visiting JW guests. None of this works. Whilst being polite and kind and quiet it goes on as normal and the lies are kept on being spread. I hate the WT with a passion.
I read Captive of a Concept which gave me many insights on the WT organisation. We had discussed a few issues about this before only to realise that she was reading off the WT cue card. We got on to the subject of voting today, she will not vote....why? becuase the WT tells her not to.
I asked her if she realised how much of a fight it was to get women the vote. She was aware of Emily Pankhurst throwing herself under a horse. I asked her if she knew the reason why women weren't allowed the vote in the first place.. she wasn't sure. I said it was because of the bible and the fact religion has kept women in a lowly place for centuries. This ideal has kept this abusive ideal for one purpose.... abuse,.... she said the women work from the heart and need to read and follow the bible so they could operate in the world. I said the bible hate women and classed them as second class citzens....this is abuse from a male logical secular stand point. ( taken humanity a long time to realise this).
Because I raised my voice and exppressed my views I have become an abuser of her. She will be now complaining to her JW friends of how evil I am .. I have had enough of it. They always appear to come out as if they are the light and bright ones. I have all but lost my wife in trust, she doesn't come to me any more.
Perhaps I should have realised the power that could be held over some one using the biblical scriptures as a guide for my own gains even if egotistical. I am not like that but instead, being caring,. lost and frustrated about our situation have put myself in the position of being and abusing husband for making her feel uncomfortable.
