  Living A Lie

  i am sick of living a lie, yet afraid to change it.

  married to a man who refuses to listen, who would rather plug his ears and shout "nooooooo" is taking it's tole.

  i am afraid to speak my mind about my doubt, my thoughts, and what i'm learning, as i'm not ready to cross that point of no return.

  Doesn't all this attention show how much you are loved?
  I am glad your friend led you to this sight he is a very smart cookie. You are free to discuss ANY of your thoughts here, and can be guaranteed to recieve honest opinions from all. That is the great part of this sight, there are so many people here that have walked down different paths. So there are a lot of different viewpoints of this world.
  Belief it or not, in the future you will look back at this point in your life and be able to discuss with someone else how you made it through.:) I have faith in this.
  I too have been where you are at. So I know the loneliness, and doubts that must be going through your head. My biggest obstacle was to love myself, the rest comes after that.A pros and cons list helps as well even to establish "why you are so special" Make sure you write down ALL of our names on the pros side:) And when you start on the cons(things you don't like about yourself) make a side note of how you can change this, then work on it.
  Life is not easy, there are no quick answers. But know and have faith in those that have been there that "this too shall pass"
  I love you for having the courage to post and ask for help, and I can tell you area very caring individual.Thank you for allowing us to enter your life:)

  Visiting a KH...

  a 'friend' of mine keeps telling me that everything i am reading here on this board is a packload of lies from people who have no respect for god.. he also tells me that if i would just go to the kh for once, that i would see for myself that jws are not the bad people that they are portrayed to be.. while i have my own convictions about this subject, i was curious to know what others' opinions would be on the fruitfullness of taking up this man's offer and going to the kh to see for myself.

  so, what do you think?

  I reread my post and it has been bugging me, let me clarify my thoughts.
  I am sorry if I sounded harsh, that was not my intention. The point I was trying to make is if you don't like chinese food, why would entering a chinese resturaunt change your mind? So you can look at the well kept establishment? And draw the conclusion that everything LOOKS nice? See how nice the waitress is? And conclude that she wouldn't serve you food that tastes AWFUL?
  I am sorry for saying it is a trap. I thought about this and I don't believe they INTENTIONALLY trying to trap. They are just doing as they are trained(get them in to the kh fast)
  And lastley I want to say I don't know the definition of an apostate, But I don't want to be labeled as such, just because they are demonized right? hee hee just kidding
  Sorry if I offended and I hope I cleared it up.

  No offense but, look at that statement....Why would entering a BUILDING change your views? You have spent alot of time researching and deciding on a belief system. I agree with the others, it is a trap:)

  i recalled something said a while back by an elder during a service meeting a while back.

  i beleive it was a local needs part on getting out in service.

  You know what I hated?
  When someone in the congregation was reproved and almost immediatly after there would be a "special needs" talk given. Then everyone knew why that person was reproved. I think the elders should use discretion and at least wait a week or two.
  Also they always talked about persucution as prove that they were the true religion. When I learned about the holocaust in school, I was dumbfounded that there were others who died for the sake of their religion.

  Are you Ex's still Christian?

  whassup guys.

  i've spent most of my web time over the last 2 years at another site full of ex-jdubs...i'd say about 50 people post there on occasion...many of that number regularly.. what struck me from the beginning, as i got to know the people posting there was...how many were now atheists...non-believers in god...the bible...pretty much anything they once held sacred as jw's!.

  i dare say...90 some % do not consider themselves christian now!.

  There are soooooooo many different forms of religions in this world, if someone finds one they agree with and belief in then more power to them. The beliefs I have basically is love for the creator of myself and other humans. In school when the science teacher taught us The Big Bang theory, I was rolling on the floor laughing! But to some people the theory of creation is hysterical. We don't have a true interpretation of God's word, but I feel he did try to communicate with us.
  My belief is to follow my heart and conscience. We may not know where we came from or where we are going but we do control the ride.

  When should you Disassociate yourself?

  i have been having discussion with my sister (relative), who is an active witness, about writing a letter of disassociation.

  the reason being is that i have not attended the meetings in over a year and it's been 4 years since i have went out in the jw ministry.. i going to try to sum this topic up.

  my sister think that i should not da myself because i have not done any immoral act in her thinking.

  What are the reasons?

  hi all,.

  someone asked me the other day why i am so interested in reading about jws,ex jws and things that are going on with the wts.. i think for the most part,only those who have been involved with the wts can understand why we are so interested in the subject.. of course having believed everything the wts has told us over the years and dedicating our lives to it kept us tied in with them.. what are the different reasons that you all have for continuing to be preocupied with the wts?.
