Living A Lie

i am sick of living a lie, yet afraid to change it.

married to a man who refuses to listen, who would rather plug his ears and shout "nooooooo" is taking it's tole.

i am afraid to speak my mind about my doubt, my thoughts, and what i'm learning, as i'm not ready to cross that point of no return.

I would like offer my advice too, I feel you need to answer your "what if's" before you approach your husband. This way you will be stronger, and better able to handle his arguments.
Redhorsewoman's reply WAS amazing, I have never seen that before. Now I have a better understanding of why my mom is so "into" the org. you too can see how they are pulling at you now too, and how this will affect your husbands reaction

Fact is, I don't know what this world has to offer me. Don't know what I'd do WITHOUT my husband. Cuz it's him that I live for, it's him i go to meetings for.

Let your love for him guide you on the path you should take. Pray to God and let your heart lead you.

taking the long view

not often have i regretted being an inactive jw.

today though, i heard a true story i would have loved to use as an "effective introduction" in a talk.

it seems two southern gentlemen were out frog gigging in a very remote area.

Don't be sad.In my head I don't have a "picture" of heaven. I don't sit and dream of wonderful things. I believe that "heaven" is the END, and a place we will get all of our questions answered. Just accepting the fact that I will go SOMEWHERE eases my mind.
Personally what is your view of where you are going? You don't have to answer here if you don't want.

I REGRET that to this very day.

Forgive yourself of the past:) It is easier looking in the mirror to brush your teeth:)

Wanna hear a secret?
For years I just KNEW I was supposed to partake. When they passed the wine, the last year attending, I cried. Then came the bread, My body ached to eat it.
What this means I have NO idea:) But please don't laugh! This is how I felt in my heart.
Why would I want to live on this earth,even if it was perfect? I longed to be in "heaven" absorbing all the knowledge of those there. And finally finding the TRUTH.

do you hold out hope for the watchtower organization?

if you've left entirely, have you found another form of worship?

My sentiments excactly! I have looked into many religions, and found none that hold ALL of my beliefs. I refuse to be a hypocrite and assign my name to a religion, or should I say their name on me. I am very happy where I am right now, and don't feel the need for organized religion in my life.

When you were talking about the music in the cathedral, I remember when I was younger. At district assemblies, I would not sing, I would listen. The sound of all the people singing in unison was a beautiful sound to me.

Your wife knows the mindset of her parents, please respect (and I know you are very thoughtful about this to begin with) her descision, it is her choice to tell them. When her heart is ready, she will know. And I know that you will stick by her, through this time.

I can't answer for anyone else. Personally I went through the whole withdrawl from org by myself.Myself meaning, I didn't have any other exjw's to talk with. Fortunately, I had a few good friends who have never been in the truth and understanding is limited, but were there for me if i needed them.
Now I have found this forum, and I realize how I would have benifited from this way back then.
We all can't deny the euphoria we got from being a JW. Theres nothng like knowing you are gonna live forever, there are people all over the world who love you just because of the name you carry, etc, etc. But on the other side, when we are shunned we are ALONE and hurting badly. Rejection is the hardest thing to accept. It helps to put it all out on the table in this sort of setting.
Sorry I might have missed the point here but that is why I come here.

My mouth is WATERING. I can't wait to take a trip to Florida to pick up some more gator. I never paid for it, I have friends that get a permit to hunt.Which reminds me I have never seen gator in the grocery store, only in restaurants. How much are they asking for it?

Thank you Path,
I am new to the internet, and am amazed at how many jw sites there are. There is so much research into little bitty details. To me this is exhausting. I understand that is where the brothers and sisters are at in thier healing process, so I except it.
I for one have found peace in my heart. All I can do is cry for and pray for the ones who are still hurting. Because we all have witnessed what pain this org. brings about.
My heartfelt love goes out to everyone on the board. I am so glad to have found you:)
