  Why have there been changes over the years in the teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses?

  the bible shows that jehovah enables his servants to understand his purpose in a progressive manner.

  (prov.

  4:18; john 16:12) thus, the prophets who were divinely inspired to write portions of the bible did not understand the meaning of everything that they wrote.

  My 2 cents.

  - JW used to celebrate x-mas, b-days, smoke. Not anymore. That could be consider progressive. The light get's brighter.

  - JW teaches that the foot in Daniel's prophecy is USA/GB, what happens if in 20 years is China?

  Is it progressive (the light gets brighter) to say now is China ? Not really, you got no choice to come up with some new lapping foot.

  What hurts it's that these things are coming from God. So once the information is established. It can not change. Only added better understading.

  Is saying now that China is the foot an addition to the understanding ? So where did the foot being USA/GB came from ?

  the worst case i saw was a guy & girl(both baptized) who were liveing togeather,smokeing dope,getting drunk ect.. they get called out by the elders and given a tell off and were married in the kh 3 months latter.. .

  his dad,grandad and uncles were all elders in the area.. .

  below are the average occurances of specific words plottet as a function of year for the watchtower.

  the occurences has been normalized such that for instance an occurance of 0.1 correspond to the given word being used an average of 0.1 times per page in the watchtower for that year.

  (a page is assumed to contain 3000 characters).. any good ideas?
