I Believe Catholicism And Its Trappings Are Silly, Strange & Weird!!!
by minimus inmy italian friend loves going to the "feasts" that occur in italy, boston or nyc.
these feasts feature a "saint" with dollar bills pinned around her and they parade the saint in a long procession and chant "viva (whomever)".
they are quite serious about this and are proud to talk about the past generations of observers who appreciated the events.

The best thing the witnesses taught me was how to call out bullshit on other religions. Once I turned it on them, they were done for. So how anyone goes from being a Witness to being a Cathoholic, is beyond me. Did you miss out on the religious bullshit detector the WTS passed out? You know the one that said "Never use this logic on the WTS"
Religion is a snare and racket....all religion!

Is going from the JWs to another Religion just a "Rebound?"
by braincleaned in*a rebound is the need to fill a void with something we partly had confort in; whether in romance or faith.... .
i posted the following in another thread, and i welcome your feedback - especially if you disagree with my logic.

Sulla without the bible there is no proof of a Christian god vs. a Muslim god vs. a Zoroastrian god. Out of the scripture (egg) hatches the god (chicken). There is nothing in nature that says 'Well I am an inerrant sinner and I need a ransom sacrifice to save me." All of that has to be taught to someone. We are all born with a desire to understand the world around us, but we are not born with the knowledge of a Christian god or any other god. That’s why 2/3 of the world is not Christian.
This is my consistent issue with most monotheists. If someone who was not primed with the thoughts that it could be true, then most people will not be swayed by religion. Take someone that has never met a Christian or read about them by age 30. Then explain that god wrote down prophesy about Jerusalem falling in 70CE. Then tell them that the oldest bible manuscript we have is from 150CE. What would that prove? That people could write down things after the fact.
At this point in the world we are no longer bamboozled by the stories. We have an ability to look at these stories and know that they are not fact.

I cant tell if he is gulty or not. He passed hundreds of drug tests and has gone through multiple investigations. At this point he is on like quintuple jeparody. So I dont blame him for stopping the fight. In the end they can take some of the records from him, but you cant take all the benifits he has.

HILARIOUS Game: Who Said It, Dr. Doom or Yahweh?
by DarioKehl inspecial thanks to the guys at the ask an atheist podcast for inventing this!
below is a list of quotes borrowed from this link:http://lotsoftinyrobots.blogspot.com/2012/07/yahweh-or-dr-doom.htmlyou have to guess if they're from the evil dr. doom (of the fantastic 4 comics) or yahweh, god of the ot.
since both are fond of speaking in third person, their names have been replaced with "steve".

Who appointed the current GB? seems all of them are 1999 and over...
by EndofMysteries inmaybe 1 was in the early 90's, but when i looked up things, seems like 3 were appointed in 1999, and the rest in like 2002, 2005, etc.
since all of them are so new, it makes me wonder if they are the ones pulling the strings or are they now more representative and somebody else is pulling the strings?.

They were appointed by the old GB...they are just all dead now. you are looking at GB 2.0 I think ole Teddy Jaracz was the last one from the 70s to kick it.

Being spiritually minded is one thing, while organized religion is quite another. Having to give logic up in order to be in organized religion cripples us in a way that no ammount of faith can make up for.
There are many lies or falsehoods in all religion and many humans through out history have pointed this out. Many of them have given up their lives to fight for this truth. So I think finding a personal religion or personal spitituality to guide you is wonderful. It keeps you from getting 'married' to another crazy belief system.

Are you Ex's still Christian?
by joel inwhassup guys.
i've spent most of my web time over the last 2 years at another site full of ex-jdubs...i'd say about 50 people post there on occasion...many of that number regularly.. what struck me from the beginning, as i got to know the people posting there was...how many were now atheists...non-believers in god...the bible...pretty much anything they once held sacred as jw's!.
i dare say...90 some % do not consider themselves christian now!.

More Disclosure Stuff
by metatron inhardly a week passes without some credible figure testifying to ufo reality.. http://beforeitsnews.com/unexplained-phenomena/2012/08/ufo-disclosure-may-be-imminent-2430224.html.
i've followed ufo stories for some years now and this barrage of authoritative people looks unprecedented.
couple that with the claim that ufo sightings have increased enormously in the past couple years and...... who knows?.
