Didn't the Catholic Church deny thier sexual abuse problem for a few years too?
Yes, and Watchtower made a big deal out of it.
As so often happens, Watchtower is guilty of the same thing it condemns others for.
so we've heard from three different governing body members this year regarding child sexual abuse.. the latest one on the rc admitted there's a sexual abuse problem within the cult, yet lett and morris swept the dirt under the carpet stating they have a great reputation as far as sex abuse is concerned, and pointed their fingers at "apostate lies".
.
i'm left totally confused at the contradiction of this "organization"..

Governing Body members have run the gamut, from outright denials that there is a problem with child molesting among Jehovah's Witnesses, to admitting there is.
I.) Stephen Lett outright denied there is a problem with pedophilia in "Jehovah's organization," claiming reports of such are "apostate-driven lies."
II.) Anthony Morris III hinted there is a problem in the Organization with child molesting but blamed it on gay men.
III.) Finally, Geoffrey Jackson acknowledged there is definitely a problem when testifying before the Australian Royal Commission. Jackson is questioned by ARC attorney Angus Stewart.
this is a little long, but stick with me.. if you recall, when the building work was in full swing at the new lakefront villa (warwick), wt was having workers come and they would put them up for a year, or more, while they were providing "volunteer services".
with that, and the impending need for hundreds and hundreds of new khs in the usa territory, the congregations were abuzz with the need for "continued construction volunteers".
recently, as many of you know, wt headquarters has sent pretty much everyone home, and is no longer needing workers at the new warwick site, as the building is mostly complete, with the dedication coming up later this year.
they can flip to Malachi
Seems an odd choice of book to me as it's easy to find, being the last one in the OT. Not that I remember it ever being quoted from.
I took JWdaughter's reference to Malachi as a general reference to any of the small prophet's or difficult to find books in the Bible. JWs are usually pretty good at finding any obscure passage, and to some it's like a badge of honor to be able to do so.
Malachi itself is rather easy to find since, as pointed out, it's the last book of the OT and comes right before Matthew. But the reference could have been to any other small book - Nahum, Micah, Amos, Obadiah, etc.
When JWs, such as the ones in the opening post, are dropped from voluntary service by the Organization it leaves them with basically nothing to fall back on except the ability to find an obscure scripture in the Bible.
'Try living on that' is the humorous reference I got from her post.

Skinned and thrown about.....
Basically, human life is disposable to Watchtower.
BUT. . . they can flip to Malachi in NO time, so, there's that!
Oh dear, I was in stitches for a couple of minutes over that. Thanks for the great laugh JWdaughter.
i had seen it before but never actually looked.. sure enough in july 15 2013 wt .... 17 in the past, we have stated in our publications that these last four references apply to jesus’ arriving, or coming, in 1918. as an example, take jesus’ statement about “the faithful and discreet slave.” (read matthew 24:45-47.
) we understood that the “arriving” mentioned in verse 46 was linked to the time when jesus came to inspect the spiritual condition of the anointed in 1918 and that the appointment of the slave over all the master’s belongings occurred in 1919.

Beautiful explanation Magnum.
my wife found this 1/4 page ad on page 2 of yesterday's nj star-ledger, probably the biggest newspaper in nj.
pretty telling.. .
When I heard Weitz & Luxenberg was the source of these ads, the first words that popped into my mind were "ambulance chasers," "slip-and-fall" and "sharks."
I think of it as fighting fire with fire.
This type of ambulance chasing law firm has a place here, like maggots cleaning out the putrid, decaying flesh that is Watchtower.
We have the high class attorneys such as Irwin Zalkin and Rick Simons doing their part, now we have the slip-and-fall type of firms having a go at it too. I say hit Watchtower from all sides. The more attorneys and lawsuits, the more publicity, and it's the publicity that Watchtower hates the most; it's the publicity that will do the most damage to the Organization.
The more exposure the better.

Their only concern is about a good public name for the "org", well that is now in tatters! (Half Banana)
How embarrassing for the Governing Body, the Organization, the elders, and all of JWs.
The reputation they are getting is just the opposite of what the Bible speaks of in listing the qualifications of being an elder...
7 Moreover, he should also have a fine testimony from people on the outside... 1 Tim 3:7
If an organization is made up of elders and others having a "fine testimony from people on the outside" then the entire Organization should have the same reputation, but instead Watchtower and all of JWs are being humiliated, and they brought it on themselves.
The reputation they thought they had was in their own minds anyway, but this shameful public exposure should shock more than a few JWs. Many, hopefully, will wake up over it.
exjw's of a certain age will remember randy's site well.
freeminds was instrumental in waking me up along with ray franz's books.
if net soup and armageddon okies mean nothing to you you're probably under 30.. whatever caused randy to post what he did recently is something i can only guess at but it won't be what i remember him for.. randy, i wish you well and thank you for all you've done over the years .
Several years ago I made a very small contribution to the FreeMinds website via Paypal.. In no time at all I received a very gracious 'thank you' email from Randy, which both surprised and impressed me (not surprised that he would say thank you, but surprised that I received it so quickly). I became immediately aware that he is first class all the way.

Dreamerdude: Of course they can be happified when they see the results shining as gold Rolex watches and iWatches on JWTV.
Even being full awake I am still a little shocked when I see Watchtower's blatant requests for money and other valuables.
GB members have no problems flashing gold jewelry and watches in their public and TV appearances, while at the same time asking you to give yours to the Organization. The Charitable Planning brochure shows many ways you can be 'thrilled,' including donating your jewelry.
