im printing this off and spending my next sunday morning doing some door to door work posting this article through all the letter boxes of the street my local kh is on.. it's shocking that none of the r&f know about this.
i have a feeling that the 2 witness rule will be revised in 2017 and made to look like it was jehovah's proper time.
Steve2:
This issue is different from JW rhetoric on hallmark JW doctrines and policies. This is not the issue JW organization wants to make a stand on.
I agree with the above remarks. In the past JWs have fought for the right to preach publicly and neutrality issues such as not having to salute a flag or join the military. These are freedom of religion issues.
Regarding child protection policies they will likely make changes eventually if the heat gets high enough, then claim that Jehovah gave them New Light through a deeper study of His Word. That is, if it's even made known to JWs. As DesirousOfChange mentioned, it might only need to be a letter to Elders that explains the changes leaving JWs in the dark about the whole issue.
Child protection is a social issue, not a freedom of religion issue. Whatchtower has changed on social issues before, such as taking the "spare the rod" scripture as a metaphor rather than literally, acknowledging that homosexuality may be a natural trait rather than a personal choice, and not allowing men to grow beards even though Bible characters had them. In all of these cases JWs have put aside what the Bible literally says and embraced the prevailing social standard.
The only reason Watchtower's child protection policies are so horrible now is because they are a cover up attempt to prevent the public in general, and JWs themselves, from knowing that a serious child abuse problem exists in the Organization. It would be humiliating and damaging to the reputation of JWs for that to be known.
If the exposure of Watchtower's child protection policies becomes more damaging to them than the child abuse issues themselves Watchtower will change. It will take the purifying effect of shedding lots of daylight on the issue. The ARC is doing a beautiful job of it. What is needed is more exposure in other countries, which may be brewing.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/jehovahs-witness-death-quebec-civil-code-1.3868610.
calls to amend quebec civil code mount in wake of jehovah's witness death.
calls to reform quebec's civil code are mounting in response to the death of éloïse dupuis, a 26-year-old jehovah's witness woman, six days after she gave birth in october.. emergency situations.
Hospital Liaison Committees, far too often, are there to run interference between Dr and patient, and to exert undue influence on the patient, which is what happened in the Éloïse Dupuis case according to a previous article, in spite of compelling evidence that she didn't fully agree with Watchtower's no-blood policy.
There are a hundred ways to browbeat someone into doing something, then claim in the end that it was all their decision. Watchtower and it's appointed Elders are expert at it. (You wouldn't want to disappoint Jehovah, would you? It will be like going to sleep and waking up in God's new world, where you will live forever. If you violate God's law on blood you would be giving up everlasting life; you don't want that, do you? Etc)
When a patient is in a weakened condition it's much easier to manipulate them.
If HLCs want to transfer information to Drs regarding procedures, or to put them in touch with other medical staff around the world who are more experiened, fine, but HLCs shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a patient.
i'm at my quasi-thanksgiving dinner with relatives.
i hear a haunting sound from another room.
"is that a children's song?
I know one elder who likes to say,
"[Armageddon/the new system] isn't just around the corner anymore, now it's staring us right in the face."
He's been saying that for the entire 40 years that I've known him.
Sadly the false promises continue generation after generation.

JW never released the New Jerusalem Bible.
However Watchtower did publish the Jerusalem Bible (a Catholic translation). The New Jerusalem Bible was an update of it.
Both of these use the Divine name, in the form of Yaweh, which is probably why Watchtower wanted the Jerusalem Bible in their lineup.
As of 1986 the Bibles being sold by Watchtower, and I assume published by them, are in the attached Cost List scan. Non NWT Bibles are highlighted in yellow.
at disfellowshipped people the awake gave me permission poopie so happy.
Are you saying the new Awake gives you permission to smile at disfellowshipped people, so now you are happy - in a sarcastic way? Please explain.
i'm at home and hear knock on door , i sneak and look i see two men and recognise one voice and go back into lonunge and ask wife ( who is inactive believer) does she want to speak to elders ,she says no ,then literally 3 minutes has pasted another knock the 3 minutes seemed like an eternity.
so brave heart me think fuck it i'll answer ,i invite them in for coffee, i recognise one older man he is a unique elder who i genuinely was fond of when i was in his name is andrew ,the other guy i didn't recognise we will call harry ( not real name australia doesn't have that many cos with his same name).
so i think to myself i will tread lightly and not cause to much of a fuss for the wife's sake, but my personality is very the opposite of treading lightly ,as you read my threads you will realise i'm not timid.
Wow Chook, your recall is amazing. That was a very enjoyable read! Thanks for the post.
*warning this is long* it all started on the last day of the "remain loyal to jehovah" convention.
a little background story, i've been raised as a jw, been in and out of the religon, never baptised but was made an unbaptized publisher about 3 years ago, always felt out of place in the congregation, blamed myself for this because if i had just went to meetings and did all the right things then i would have friends and not be in the mess that i was.
right after becoming an unbaptized publisher i met my now fiance, end up leaving my mother's house to live with him, elders haven't contacted me about my situation even though i'm sure they know as my step father is an elder...but anyway on the last day of the convention my fiance came with me as i was visiting my mother and had planned to go with her and her husband to the convention.
nomorepain13: Finding out that jws are not what they make out to be
Not only is the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses not everything it pretends to be, it is absolutely nothing it pretends to be.
this notice is not official yet and it should be confidential until released thru the proper channels.
a friend of mine told me about a huge elders meeting in southern california.
the subject was the relocation and dissolution of some congregations; it seems that this is the result of some project that has been going on for some time and is going to be implemented right now.. please let me know if this is happening all over the country?.
That letter is talking out of both sides of it's mouth, isn't it?
It is very exciting to witness the rapid growth of the visible part of Jehovah’s organization.
That part promotes the illusion that there is growth in the organization, and it's what many JWs will hear.
...whether an auditorium could be better utilized by merging congregations
"Merging congregations." This is what's really happening. Wouldn't "rapid growth" mean that more KHs are needed, not fewer, which will be the direct result of merging?
... your congregation will participate directly in an adjustment that will include neighboring congregations.
But the congregation isn't told what the "adjustment" will be, suggesting to those that have their ear to the ground that it will be bad news, but the average JW will think that any adjustment will always come from Jehovah and will be wonderful - until after it happens.
Can you hear the future spin on this? An elder, still promoting the false idea that there is growth in the organization, will be quoted as saying something like "Why within less than one year attendance at our KH has nearly doubled."
It reminds me of the inflated pioneer numbers that were reported after the hourly requirement was lowered to 30 during 1 or 2 spring months and auxiliary pioneering was heavily promoted. (I think it was 30. Some low number close to that.)
Jehovah's Witnesses have always survived on misleading half truth, but now more than ever.
i met up with many friends of 50-60 years over the last week.
these were friends from the neighborhood, school, and kh.
i renewed some really special attachments.
Don't be mislead; be misled.
