James what could they DF me for? They have no evidence. I committed no sins.
You don't have to commit a sin to be DF'd, you simply have to disagree with a Watchtower concept. The charge would be apostasy.
One of this boards most beloved posters, screen name Mouthy, was DF'd because she didn't accept the Society's teachings about 1914.
This post reveals that she is near death and her active JW daughter won't have anything to do with her even though Grace (Mouthy) committed no sin.

Some have been able to pull off a meeting with elders with no bad outcome and their fade was successful. Not everyone can do it though. If you decide to go through with meeting with them be very careful and I wish you the best. They really are very sneaky, and probably experienced at drawing information out of people.

I'm getting the feeling I should not meet with them but I want to know why.
Because elders can be sly buzzards. Their meeting with you could easily be the first step to a Judicial Hearing. They are good at asking loaded questions and could easily trap you into saying something you didn't intend.
As pointed out, you have already mentioned to your husband that you don't accept the blood policy, so it's going to be hard to reverse yourself on that. You will either have to lie through your teeth and say things you don't believe to satisfy them, or tell the truth and face consequences.
All of this is done in the name of love and helping someone spiritually. If you are marked or DF'd in the end they will tell themselves they have done the loving thing and you will suffer for it.
Best advice, as given above, is don't get started with them.

This is Watchtower trying to re-identify itself as a happy, smiling people as opposed to the negative, judgemental people they have gained the reputation of being, condemning everything in sight.
What happened to the concept of 'preaching the good news of the kingdom'? JWs are told to "advertise, advertise, advertise the King and his Kingdom." You can't do that by not saying anything to people.
JWs are looking more and more generic and churchy all the time.

"...the handling of the sin of child abuse by Jehovah’s Witnesses cannot be faulted from a secular point of view.”
I was struck by that remark too. The JW leadership continues to view the sexual molestation of children as simply a sin, not a criminal act. I am a little surprised they would say this in a public document where anyone can read of their lax attitude toward it. -

Is this the earliest WT reference to 1975?
by Splash ini thought that the 1975 thing started in the mid to late 60's, but it seems the seeds were sown two decades earlier.is this the earliest reference to it?.
18 how many today are awake to the fact that the lord christ jesus, by his resurrection of the faithful bride members that slept in death, is taking his "bride" unto his father's house and the marriage of the lamb has begun' .... they do not say, 'it is a long time yet to the wind-up, and, according to the present understanding of bible chronology, six thousand years of human history will end first in the coming seventies and till then it is a long stretch to serve the lord continuously and undividedly.'.
... they keep their eye and heart on jehovah's kingdom, and not on the time clock.

(w44 9/15 p.280 par.28)
They do not say, 'It is a long time yet to the wind-up, and, according to the present understanding of Bible chronology, six thousand years of human history will end first in the coming seventies and till then it is a long stretch to serve the Lord continuously and undividedly.'
Witnesses today will typically deny that 1975 was supposed to be the end of the world as we know it, Armageddon, or anything of a final nature. But notice that in 1944 the Society was referring to the 1970's as the "wind-up."
Wording like that clearly signifies the end.

The police are not notified even if a sexual offender if disfellowshipped. A child molester, known to Jehovah's Witnesses, is simply turned loose on the community to offend again, repeatedly, as he will.
This makes a liar out of all JW's who claim they go door to door because they love their neighbor.
Available findings on sanctions – disfellowshipping
F53 Since it is the policy or practice of the Jehovah’s Witness organisation not to report
allegations of child sexual abuse to the police (other than if required by law to do so), if a
known abuser is disfellowshipped he remains in the community and a risk to children in the
community. -

From the letter in the opening post...
This video...describes some of the ways that donated funds are used by the organization.
Hmm. Watchtower, what are you hiding? Why won't you tell us all the ways donated funds are used by the organization? How much are you paying out to settle lawsuits for example? The ways you show will surely be hand picked examples intended to glorify the organization, and that's not good enough.
Until Watchtower opens it's books fully, showing all the money that comes in and where it comes from, and all the money that goes out and where it goes to, I personally would never consider returning to the organization. There are many other reasons for not returning, but financial accountability is a big one with me.
