Hello, when I was about 4 or 5 my mom let me go to church with
friends ... I had a great time..
however, I always wished my mom was with me.
I think it helps kids if we are involved in their world including
worship.
Take care, hope all goes well for your lil one..

Help, my son misses the hall...
by termite 35 inhe really does.. we had a long chat tonight and he was really sad.we were never integrated into jw society,so it's not the people;he justsaid ...'want to belong to god's family'?
!i went through a few more points as to why the wtbs wer'nt the 'right' religion and asked him if he felt god was happy with people who lie.he re-accepted that and then said'so,how do you know where to go?i tried to explain it by asking him if he thought god looked at congregations or individuals and we got to the conclusion that it's probably individuals.... my point is, he wants to go to his teachers church, and i don't.my husband has never been interested in religion in any form and as the months go by,i feel less and less inclined to be involved in any religion.he has a strong christian theme at his school, but done nicely, so i know his desperation is,nt all 'my fault' but i feel guilty at making him so desperate to find the place he feels comfortable in.he's only 8 and an obsessed sports fan who has a very loving ,full life-but he's unhappy at night and i'm so worried it's my fault.i feel so depressed tonight and responsible for messing up his head with it all.the point is.... do i take him to his teachers church even though i have no desire to?how long would i have to go, feeling a hypocrite?.
what will it do to him if i don't try to help him practically with how he's feeling?.

Concerning Luke 24:39
by FrankRaven inwhen one talks to a witness about the resurrection why do they always say that christ came back as a spirit when christ clearly said in luke 24:39,that he did not come back as a spirit?scripture clearly says that ,"a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see i have.".
"it is not a form of religious persecution to say and.
to show that another religion is false .

AGuest hello i would like to know how you believe one is to be born again, and also do you think only 144,000 are. Or do you believe it is an infinite number. also how did you come to believe about adams garment not being a physical garment...just that he lost the ability to go back and forth between paradise and earth. Do you think paradice was on earth? Thanks i have been trying to sort things out.
>>I always thought the garment of skin was animal skin because he was ashamed of his nakedness because of sin...Thanks Meomy

The WT and UN 'relationship'....
by AGuest inmay you all have peace!.
i have read many posts wherein friends and family have a difficult time believing this relationship was true, or give very unreasonable excuses (received from elders, etc.
recently, a dear friend told me of a long discussion with her fleshly sister, who told her that it was a lie and even if she (my dear friend) produced a letter on wt letterhead, it was only because someone had stolen the paper and forged the wt signature.

True religion - anyone have a clue?
by Tin Man inwhat is the true religion anyone have a clue?.
i would love to know, if anyone does have a clue; being a witness most of my life it gave me this feeling like i really was in the true religion and god really was with me cause i belonged to the "true religion.. i have noticed that witness's say the elders were appointed by holy spirit, how do they know did they see it, it just dawned on me that all of it has been based on the premise that i had to have faith in what they say rather then substantiated facts; all of what they say simply put is nothing more then words, contrived by men only, if you tell them this you get the treatment like your going to be destroyed which is paramount to going and burning in hell.

I would think that true religion would be to love jehovah and jesus with all your heart.. give to the poor...love your neighbor and to respect the earth and the environment..preach the word..and to be a good christian
However the scriptures outline the congregation..the qualifications of elders and (ministerial servants..deacons) so i think god would not have outlined these things if we were to just stay home and not associate with people in congregations..Hebrew 10: 23 & 24..
So when one leaves the wt that puts us in a dilema as far as who to congregate with ?? Im sorry but i havent a clue either.

Scriptures JWs Would Prefer to Ignore
by Room 215 inhere are my nominations for scripture jws would like to see go away.
in all cases they're reduced to the ``yes, but'' defense; i.e.
john 14:2-- ``in my father's house are many mansions.".

IN RESPONSE TO ISAIAH 33:10-14. ..I also saw this scripture when doing my bible reading and thought it quite interesting the way it was translated in my Comparitive Study Bible. Notice NWT translated Godless as Apostates....In the dictionary the two words mean quite different things! But in the Hebrew lanquage I am unsure??
NWT Isaiah 33:14 In Zion the sinners have come to be dread;shivering has grabbed hold of the APOSTATES: 'Who of us can reside for any time with a devouring fire? Who of us can reside for any time with long-lasting conflagrations?King James Isaiah 33:14
The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath suprised the HYPOCRITES. ....NASV Isaiah 33:14
Sinners in Zion are terrified; Trembling has seized the godless...NIV Isaiah 33:14
The sinners in Zion are terrified; trembling grips the godless:...Another scripture i found different is JOHN 17:3
NWT John 17:3 ( This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you,...
NIV John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you,...
NASV John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know thee,...

thanks JT.. The thing is i have been reading these posts for a year
and i am still 50/50. Sometimes when i go to the hall I look around me and think these people are true lovers of god (my hall is very loving). I think well maybe the organization will come around.. you know new light..But then i think i have never been PERSONALLY INJURED like some here have been such as molestation or blood issue. Maybe i am brainwashed..sometimes i think that maybe that love doesnt exist in churches only at the hall. I may join a pastors bible study group to prove myself wrong? I quess i need to see if you can find love elsewhere. Plus my children will need good christian kids to hang around being they will lose alot of freinds if we leave. My children are in JR high and they say the kids that attend churches are no different then those who do not go to church. i have never been a jw who will not let my children have friends(my husband is not a jw.) So my children have been in a few sports ...As long as they did not interfere with meetings ...Thanks for all on this board for your help.. -

I personally read both books. I thought they were excellent
but i still am in.. I think someone is going to have to hit
me in the head with a hammer to make me leave.
Watchtower beliefs such as no hell and pardise earth are just
to wonderful i quess for me to give up. I talked to a pasture
thought that he might be able to shed some light. He was very
vauge about his beliefs he said "I just dont know where we will be
when we die (basically to trust god) I quess thats why i cant make
the break i havent learned to trust god. I know some here can read
those books and leave immediatly ..As for me i am truly undecisive
and i have 2 children and i worry for their lives. I am going to
read the books again , pray and read steven hassans book on mind
control who knows. maybe someday I can say woo hoo i am free too? -

do jw charge for lit in other countries
by meomy ini enjoy reading all your posts.

i was hoping that someone could tell me if we currently charge for literature in other countries or is it free like in the u.s. (just for voluntary contributions.

Thank you for all you replies. It just seems to me if the jw
really cared about the message. they would give lit for free
(voluntary donations) in poor areas of the earth like africa,
having faith that god would supply funds needed. From people
who are in the more well to do countries. What do you think
Doesnt this seem logical. All answers are appreciated thank you! -
