The Fatal Attraction of "God's Organization"
by Cameron_Don ini recently watched the 5-part documentary the fatal attraction of adolf hitler on youtube.... http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=fatal+asttraction+of+adolf+hitler&oq=fatal+asttraction+of+adolf+hitler&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_l=youtube.3...9316.17859.0.18511.33.33.0.0.0.0.234.3304.22j10j1.33.0...0.0.idl4vmbwceo.
without even trying i could not help but notice several similarities between the fatal attraction germans had to hitler and the fatal attraction jehovahs witnesses have to their gods organization.. example:: toward the end of the documentary it explained that even when some germans finally began to realize that hitler was not the nice guy they thought he was, they still remained loyal to him because there was no one else to turn to.. who does that remind us of?.

Need To Upgrade Captives of a Concept?
by Cameron_Don incaptives of a concept is based on the governing bodys pre-2012 interpretation of the most important scripture in their theology matthew 24:45-47. the book shows that when that interpretation is compared to the organizations history that relates to it, it becomes evident that the watchtower society has never been gods organization.
see chapter 3. their old interpretation was that the society had been so faithful and discreet about what they had provided in the way of spiritual food at the proper time that jesus appointed rutherford and his associates over all his belongings in 1919. therefore the society has been gods organization ever since.. their new interpretation is that the society had been so faithful and discreet about what they had provided in the way of spiritual food at the proper time that he appointed rutherford and his associates over his domistics in 1919. and therefore the society has been gods organization ever since.. notice that it doesnt make any difference which interpretation is used.
in order to qualify for the belongings appointment in verse 47 or the domestics appointment in verse47 the society had to have been faithful and discreet about what russell and rutherford had provided in the way of spiritual food at the proper time down till 1919.. but as captives of a concept clearly shows, they had not been either faithful or discreet which is why raymond franz expressed it this way.... it would be an insult to christ jesus to say that he (appointed) the society (over his belongings or domestics) on the basis of what it had been teaching as of 1919.. and so even though captives of a concept focuses on the pre-2012 interpretation and the belongings appointment in verse 47, what it says also applies to the post-2012 interpretation and the domestics appointment in verse 45.. and therefore the conclusion of either interpretation remains the same.

"Captives of a Concept" and the Governing Bodys New Light
by Cameron_Don inwhile waiting for this "new light " about the "faithful and discreet slave"to officially come out, "captives of a concept" already explained that in actual practice, the various terms that have been used to refer to "gods organization" (including "the faithful and discreet slave") refer in fact to just "the men who have been hidden behind those terms" - the men of the governing body.
see chapters 6 and 11. raymond franz figured this out long before the governing body just did.
in his "crisis of conscience" he said.... "whether the governing body members acknowledge it or whether they prefer not to think about it, the fact remains that in the crucial aspects of the authority and teachings they, and they alone, are the organization.

What About: Daniel 12:10 & Malachi 3:3?
by Cameron_Don indaniel 12:10 & malachi 3:3. daniel: many will cleanse themselves and whiten themselves and will be refined.
malachi: (jesus) must sit as a refiner and cleanser of silver and must cleanse the sons of levi; and he must clarify them like gold and like silver.. here are a couple examples of what james penton said about using the bible to explain almost anything that witness writers want it to.
in this case the witness writers want to explain away all of organizations former teachings that were not true (including the 48 mentioned in chapter 3).

Why 1876 Rather Than 1879?
by Cameron_Don inwhy does "captives of a concept" start counting the society's pre-1919 teachings from 1876 rather than from when he first began to publish his watch tower magazine in 1879?.
because 1876 was when russell first began proclaiming two of his most important dates: .
(1) 1874 for the beginning of jesus' second coming or "invisible presence.".

Proverbs 4:18 vs Matthew 24:45-47
by Cameron_Don inwhy is it that when former witnesses look at the society's pre-1919 teachings that were not true we conclude that they mean that the society is not god's organization, but when current witnesses look at those same teachings they conclude that they mean it is god's organization?
what makes the difference?.
i feel that one of the factors that makes the difference is because while ex-witnesses process those pre-1919 teachings through matthew 24:45-47, witnesses process them through proverbs 4:18.. take for example rutherford's "millions now living will never die!"...
