  i wonder how many jws r aware that candles have pagan origins as admitted by bishop newman(sp?

  ) in the 19th century?

  should a faithfull jw have anything to do with candles therefore?

  does anybody here have a clue why the society did not simply publish a revised edition of united in worship of the only true god, but changed the title to worship the only true god?

  is unity no more considered as important?

  if a change of title seemed necessary, why not call it "united in worship"?.

  Does anybody here have a clue why the Society did not simply publish a revised edition of United in Worship of the Only True God, but changed the title to Worship the Only True God?

  Is unity no more considered as important? If a change of title seemed necessary, why not call it "United in Worship"?

  Or is this really a change in attitude, which became evident in WTs-literature over the last decade that personal responsibility is more and more stressed, being guided by principles instead of hard and fast rules?

  Has any body already had any looks into the changes made in the new book?

  Five Questions To Ask The JW At Your Door

  below was a letter to editor that was printed in the paducah paper.

  i thought it might be relevant now as jw's are defending their position on child abuse as being ok. it all boils down to the five questions.

  if the typical jw can answer the five questions truthfully then they are forced to admit there is a problem.

  path, I agree with your reasoning.

  This is a highly emotional subject. But thie does not mean to loose our power of reason.

  1. If a pedophile were to move into your congregation, would you be informed?

  Would you be informed in any other religious denomination, if a pedophile moved into your vicinity?

  2. If a pedophile molested your child, would you be allowed to warn other parents in your congregation?

  Adding to path's comment, most of molestation cases occur within the own family, 2nd thought.

  3. If a pedophile denied he molested your child, and you could not produce two witnesses to the act of molestation, would the church discipline him/her in any way?

  Besides the fact that he would be disciplined (at least two elders would convene with him, and he would be under 'observation' by the elders, in my country (which is not the FI) there have been lately many allegations of child molestation which later where found out to be faked. So before disciplining, it is surely good to have substantial evidence, not only an accusation. BTW, two victims are two witnesses according to current policy.

  4. If the state where you reside does not require reporting a pedophile who has molested a minor, will church officials report it?

  Who needs the elders to do reporting, you could do yourself?

  5. If, as an adult, you charge an elder with molesting you when you were a child and he denies it, would he discontinue serving as an elder?

  See my comment to question N 3.

  The article doesn't exclude judicial committees from it's application. Evidently thea are as imperfect as other human judges. Interestingly, the article appeared a short time after the canged attitude toward civil services for conscientious objectors. How many of them suffered for sth. they did only out of obedience to the org?

  first senegal stuns france with an opening-game victory.. now the usa beats portugal 3-2 in a first-round game.

  and, one of portugal's goals was the result of an american "own goal".

  i saw a couple of beee-autiful crossing passes that resulted in american goals.. this brand of football, with its unexpected surprises, may actually become fun to watch!!.

  An Important Note To All Serving Elders

  recently the wts sent a letter to all bodies of elders in north america reminding them of how to proceed with the handling of cases involving child abuse.

  it stated the following:.

  "reminders regarding the handling of cases involving child abuse": (1) as directed in the june 1, 1992, letter to all bodies of elders, you should immediately call the legal department for direction if you learn of a case of child abuse.

  No real news in the letter, which was also sent to BOEs in Europe. The only problem ist, that hardcore elders for 40 yrs have difficulty to understand and apply matters as they are written, interpreting sth into letters, as they learned it to be decades ago (if the society says, they mean...).

  Why is it so hard for many to use ther God-given thinking capacities in a responsible way?

  a post made by alanf just made me remember about going to restaraunts with dubs.for the most part they don`t like to tip.my parents and the dubs they went out with were not poor people.my mom would have a fit if she saw my dad tip.most dubs i knew were the same way.did the dubs you were around,like to tip?...outlaw

  i see some warn mee to wright on this site, as on going jw, but as the tema says,forjw and ex jw.. as i not so good in english i think it must bee difficult to proof that i was informd that this is a apostate site, i dint caii this site a apostate site, i think it is a site where you can discuss annonymus, abauot important things.. i think i am one of the few inn sweden who now about this ngo thing, and childabuse, when i ask our po he dont now anything.. i have told some, my parents, who have been in the truth sens 1950, comment from my mom,the angels will look you upp and take you out, nice, i dont think so, if this happend it is the demon.. some warn mee and say that if you wright here spy find you, i dont think it is possibel, at least i stitt on a modem, and have a new number evry time i am logging inn, but perhaps i am wrong, then you must tell mee if they can find us who is inn here.. this was from the man behind anemys line.
