  Thanks to those who have given me nice words of wisdom and comfort, particularly Punk and Quendi!

  I just want to make something clear: IM NOT INTERESTING IN JOINING A RELIGION! Iv had ENOUGH of religion and churches. I simply want to go somewhere where i can listen to good spiritual things from the bible, where i can be accepted and were NO COMMITMENT is acceptable in the eyes of the church. The days of pleasing others and explaining who i am to others are GONE!!! Its simple! I just want these basic things.

  I love the sound of those churches where they say that the emphasis is on the love of Jesus. In actual fact this is what the baptist minister said to me. Punk, you recommended this church and i still thing its a good one. It just appears that the pastor has some reservations on homosexuals. If he cant accept me then ill simply go to another spiritual community where i am welcomed. I live in the UK though and Unitarians dont exist here! Well not close by anyway! Id love to find a local church where the minister is gay! HAHA!!!

If you want to, have a read of these scriptures as they will prove to you that no matter how you may view yourself in Gods eyes, or how much other people cant accept you for who you are, there is always someone who loves you if you give him the chance.

  Lazy Sundays? Haha... i often dont sleep in past 10am by which time i could be up and heading to church. Alternativly I was thinking before, i could kind of use this place as a church of sorts. It does after all fulfill my 2 criteria: Im accepted and i feel spiritualy encouraged here. I suppose its not the same though! :(

  Off to bed now. Im gonna read the book of John with a nice cuppa tea! Make myself feel special! :)

  Thanks Screwface, but i think some of the others may be right too. I am going to an independant Baptist church who may have their own views of homo's. Perhaps your particular church is pro gay! I wish mine was. Well... it still could be. Im just toying with the idea of going again now. I dont see why i should chat with the pastor and explain myself. There is nothing to explain.

  Randy, I must say that you actualy were (unknowingly) instrumental in saving my life. If it wasnt for your setting up freeminds, id likely have commited suicide by now. I have been a member of your forum now for almost 8 months and it has changed my life. Im SOOOO grateful to you for it!

  I live in the UK but i dont live near any major cities. I like the sound of those churches who are realy non judgmental and welcome everyone. I know its human nature to judge but its annoying when they preach about Jesus and then go and make me feel uncomfortable in what they say.

  One member on this site told me that the Baptist church would be very good for me. They said that the church and its members are often very open and accept all kinds of people. I even checked on their websites and it said the same thing. I dont know though. Maybe each individual church is different.

  Nateb and Cantleave, to be honest, the entire idea of religion doesnt interest me at all. In fact id rather not have anything to do with it. However, i like the idea that i can be encouraged by one. I like the formality that i can wake up on Sunday and start the day by going somewhere to listen about good things and then be encouraged to do them. I would quite happily do this myself, and i may yet do that. Id NEVER join a church again after my experiences with organised religion.

  Has anyone heard of the Westboro Baptist Church? Should i look into them? HAHA!!!

  Finaly, i agree with MrFreeze. If i have to discuss it then i dont want to be there. The best place would be somewhere where i am free and open. Thats what i want. I dont want any more pressure. I just want to listen and be encouraged.

  I have made a conscious search in the New Testament to see if Jesus ever said that such an organisation would exist. I have never found it!

  The only possible mention of such an organisation is Acts 15 which talks about the leaders of the church. The JWs LOVE to quote this one.

  However, the NT makes it clear that salvation is through Jesus alone and not an org so that itself blows that theory out of the water.

  Its right infront of their noses and yet they cannot see it.

  He said that we needed to discuss it. However, gone are the days where im putting myself in the firing line and not sticking up for myself. I will happily go and speak to him and tell him that i simply want is a church where i can: 1. be accepted and 2. enjoy spiritual sermons and discussion. Naturaly, my homosexuality is not something that im going to flaunt in front of others. I simply want somewhere where i can be encouraged regardless of who i am. Im not being pushed around though like i was before with the JWs!

  This could end in 2 ways:

  • He says to me that im always welcome as long as I dont do anything innapropriate (that's fine by me), in which case i will stay with the baptists.
  • He says something to me which makes me feel like im being judged (yet again), in which case i leave and (for the second church in my life) never go back.

  Is it too much to ask to go someone sincerely with an open heart and as a decent person, and not feel like people are looking at you like you some sort of pervert or sicko??? (GROANS!!!)
