I believe that the greater percentage of JWs-You Will Not Be Able to Help, no Matter What Facts You Show Them.

we talked for about an hour during which time i explained to him 607 being the wrong date and a lot of other stuff including the child abuse cases in australia.
but what i wanted to relate was the last few minutes of our conversation.

Bonsai: It's not the innate need to believe that's hard to understand. Most people want to and do believe in something. It's the fervent adherence to the lie when comcrete facts made available prove the contrary which is difficult to comprehend, at least that's my view. I know I've had to shed many ideas or teachings I at one time thought to be factual only to find out that other evidence outweighed my held notions. If I can be receptive to new facts, why can't others? -

The Religion Of Rejection - And Now That Includes Me
by dubstepped indue to some recent developments i find myself in a new place, and at this point i've lost all of my family and fri....oh that's right, i never really had any friends in the organization anyway.
just people that wanted something from me and a few people that i would invite to do things that occasionally said yes.
the recent rejections of me got me thinking, so let's take a rejection inventory.. i had to reject all of the holidays when my parents started studying.. i had to reject any worldly friends that i already had.. even family became rejected, and the new religion had some place in that.. i was rejected in school and bullied all of the time, not just because we were poor and i made good grades, but for jw reasons too.

This just occured to me. If anyone has watched the film "The Matrix", one of the bad guys, Cypher, would rather be plugged back into the Matrix and live in the bliss of the fake electronic world than bleak, cold reality. If you haven't seen the movie I highly recommend you do. Besides just being a good action/sci-fi movie it could easily apply as a metaphor for those trapped in the Org versus those freed from it. -

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The real zombies are so desperate in their need for salvation and an after life, any suggestion that death of as the final outcome is terrifying. They would rather hang on to an illusion and lie to their children (depriving their kids of a chance at a full, meaningful life) than admitt that like all things on this planet - even mountains - they will succumb to time. The mentality of clinging to a lie is almost impossible for the most enquiring mind to comprehend.
By the way, the fact that their cult is based on a foundation of lies means they aren't offering anything either other than lies. And they want to go door to door and lie about a false hope and deprive others of a shot at a fulfilling life.
Forget them, let them waste the only life they have in favor of the belief they'll get an eternal pass to Disneyland. I would rather spend my time helping those seeking reality and warning those not in the Org yet not to fall for their sadisctic jargon.

New Inactive One Saying Hello to all
