by WildHorses inthis guy seems familiar with how the jws work and he let this jw know it.
if you're wondering how i cam across this.
i was doing a search on damon wayans to see if he was still a jw because i was watching an episode of his show "my wife and kids" and his son on the show said something about placing mags.

HELGA AND THE JAHOVAHS: I don't know why Helga doesn't post these himself -- but here's another hilarious correspondence between Helga and a man who has some issues with our last newsletter.

Helga,
I take exception at your comments on Jehovah's Witnesses, Being one myself.
I agree with the thing about the off the rack suits, but since our work is
voluntary, and at our own expence, is it any wonder. We do the best we can.
As for your personal gender crisis and the comment about the witnesses
praying for your perishing soul. I am sorry but we do not judge others, only
Jehovah can do that with any authority.
But please take the time to read the Watchtower, as it offers the bibles
view on many different matters.
sincerly,
Garry
And Helga Responds:
Dear Garry,
I am surprised to see your note given Jehovah's disdain for the worldly.
I do apologize for the clothing comment. It was just meant to fire you up.
Our own workplace consists of youngsters whose grooming regimen consists of
picking through a 4ft pile of clothing and smelling the least worn outfit
before leaving the house with that ultra-hip can-you-spare-some-change look.
Off-the-rack is an improvement over under-the-pile.
Although you may not judge others, your comrades in faith certainly make it
seem that way. Children are not to socialize outside of the Kingdom, and if
one dares leave behind good 'ol Camp Russell? They are practically
excommunicated by all those who knew them with the gentle euphemism:
"disfellowshipped". Many Elders even discourage parents from socializing
with their blemished children.
Smells like judgment to me.
And I have indeed read issues of The Watchtower and Awake! magazines after
they were strategically discarded at public transportation terminals where
they could be observed by the working class. Never had I an easier read. The
Watchtower Society was kind enough to have already done all of my thinking
for me! Can you honestly say that any article you have ever read or any
elder with whom you have spoken EVER encouraged you to think critically
about the content of your reading/conversation?
Like Muslims, France and the State of Louisiana, you are compelled to live
your life by complex codes that were handed down through generations by
people who were never challenged but rather reprimanded for thinking
critically.
Love,
HelgaAnd the link to the site I got it from. http://www.liquidgeneration.com/blog/2003_09_01_archive.html

Fluff: Ladies, what makes you crazy?
by serendipity inin the last topic i started, i asked "what makes a chick crazy": http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/20/116188/1.ashx.
one of the posters suggested that women talk about what drives them crazy.
so ladies, what are the annoying habits of the people closest to you that drives you loco?.

haha Restrangled, and here I go with another about cleaning.
My sons drive me crazy because they NEVER pick up after themselves. No matter how many times I get on them about it. They expect me to do all the cleaning I guess because they get mad when I tell them to get busy cleaning up THEIR mess.

How "old" is the oldest person who lived in your family?
by JH ini was just wondering how old can a person live.
my grandmother lived up to 97, almost 98. .
those born in 1914 are 92 years old and some are still alive.. i guess that no one lived over 120 years since the flood.. how "old" is the oldest person who lived in your family?

My thoughts today
by purplesofa inas i get myself ready to go to work today.
i was a housewife for 10 years.........and now have worked the better of 18 years......... there is still hardly a day that goes by where i don't long to be home.
i would never be bored, i could find endless things to do.. do men still look for wives that would be, or need a woman "full-time"?
-

LOL Purple, my ex husband who is also my current live in, has already tried the controling bit. I looked him right in the eye and said......"I have been on my own for over eight years (since I moved in this place) and have taken care of everything on my own. What makes you think I need you to run my life now? I can run my own life thank you very much." That was the end of that. LOL

Heck, I like working. I don't want to be a housewife because then the man most likely would think he could control me. All I want is a vacation. I haven't had one since the year 1999.

What keeps you from killing yourself?
by AlmostAtheist inevery once in a while, the whole "futility of life" thing washes over me and something inside of me mentions the suicide option.
not that it's ever seriously considered, but one of the low-level accounting-types in my head quietly sends around a "worst-case scenario" memo that everyone reads, then dismisses.. after all, things always perk up.
"but," reminds the pessimistic little guy that should've been fired years ago, "they always go back down, too.

The idea of pain for one. If I knew I could die without suffering I most likely would have been gone a long time ago.

I need advice regarding child support
by snarf ini know this is a forum about jehovahs witnesses, but with so many intelligent people with varying ideas to solutions on problems, thought i would post my problem here.
my daughter's father is $35,000 behind on child support.
i have always tried to be suportive of their relationship and made sure they could see each other on his weekends.
-
WildHorses
Well, you could either have a talk with him about it and hope for the best, or complain to the child support office and have him arrested for non support. That may make him start paying.

Little things that mean alot
by beautifulisfree inokay i hate to sound mean but witnesses in my opinion are mean and rude (that once included me) without even realizing it, maybe.
because the little things that non-witnesses do in everyday life for others and their family mean alot to ones they love or complete strangers.. what are some little things you can do know that show someone you care..that you weren't allowed to do before?.
1. saying "bless you" after someone sneezes
-
WildHorses
When I was a witness I always felt so bad about not being able to say this when someone sneezed. I was always the odd man out and felty like everyone thought I was so rude.
I always felt odd about that one myself, so I started saying "goodness" instead.
