Lisa, I noticed beeps througout the recording. Was this because the recording devise allowed this? If so, then according to law you can not get in trouble for using it as this is considered a warning to those being recorded. May come in handy in the future.

I woke up to my JW mom reading JW literature to my stomach
by unbeliever ini know that sounds weird.
i am pregnant with my first child and my mom is visiting me for a few days.
i was laying on the couch taking a nap and she was sitting down and reading to my stomach.

Botox at 25 years old????
by whyamihere inhere i am 25, going on 26(birthday is on july 12th) and i am thinking about getting botox.
i have been using anti-wrinkle lotions since i was 16. i take care of my skin daily, kind of a freak when it comes to my skin.
anyway, i have found my answer.

Brooke, those creams don't do as they claim. Any Dr. will tell you that. My best friends sister is obsessed with her skin. She is always buying creams and such and applying them morning and night. Body creams as well and body oil added to her bath water. She has been doing this since she was a teen and for all she's spent through the years she still loks her age of 42.
I think personally, that the way we age is based on our genes. My mother looks 10 years younger than she is and has never in her life used any type of facial cleaner of cream. Just plain old soap and water.
So, if I were you, I would save my money. You never know what some of that stuff will do to you. It may just make things worse instead of better.

No. I believe the Bible is just a book, written by a bunch of men who wanted to control the people. They were smart that's for sure. God/The Bible/religion in general. What better idea to come up with than something that can not be proven either way. You can't prove it's true and you can't prove it's false

I have to make one of the toughest decisions of my life
by unbeliever ini am not even sure why i am posting because its so personal but i could really use some advice.
i am also embarrassed that i got myself in this situation.
there is this guy that i have known for a couple of years.

Unbeliever, if you do not love him, marrying him would be the worst thing you could do. Think about it. In a loveless marriage, you will make it for a while, but a few years down the road if you do not fall in love with him in that time you will end up in divorce. That, I think, would be the worst thing for the child. To lose a parent to divorce because I am sure you will move back to the states if you do divorce. There may even be a nasty custody fight. If he wins the child will stay in the UK with him. Will you still be able to stay there if this happens?
It seems best imo, since you do not love him, but you do want him in the childs life, to keep things as they are. He will still see his child and there will not be any animosity between the parents due to divorce.
Just my thoughts on it is all. I could be wrong though.

Tilex works wonders on mold and mildew. Not sure how it will work on old fabric but it's worth a shot anyway, since it's worthless as it is. I've used it on old lawn furniture before and it cleaned it will. Just make sure you rinse it well after.

Brainwashed Children
by I-follow-the-narrow-path ini noticed an elder showed a picture of "paradise" and asked "who are the people dipicted"... .
serveral children answered and said the same thing "they (look like they) are witnesses" -- .
it was as if these children were taught that only jws are right... which they probably were.

These children were only about 8-10.. this kinda makes me worry. Will they grow up hating worldly people?
When I was still just a study, I caught a ride from one of the Elders wives (Mrs Lawrey sp*) to the meeting that night. They were having a talk about something and all of the sudden her then 10 year old son said that he couldn't wait until Jah killed all the "worldly people". My jaw about hit the floor! Well, she must have seen me because she said rather quick that we should be praying that the worldy people come into the truth not that they die. Makes you wonder what that child and other jw kids are told at home away from "worldly" ears.
