Ahh Yonge St. Toronto. They blocked off about 10 blocks back in the late 60's/early 70's. Got a room for $9.00. They refunded $2.00 if you brought the key back the next morning. Was there the Friday the dropped the drinking age to 18 . Couldn't into a bar anywhere. Caught a blues concert on Toronto island with Eric Clapton. All gone but the memories & the Molson Canadian. ( If you're really Canandian, you're already humming that tune in your head.)

1st Time in 3 Years JW's call at our Door - Two 30 yr. long Time JW's
by flipper ini thought i was back on the jw radar after my jw daughter had a local elder call on me back in 2011 - but apparently not.
he obviously didn't let his elders know i lived here, no record was kept for posterity and just called my daughter telling her that her " dad has differences with the organization " because he never called back on me as he promised to talk again.
as i'm just inactive for 10 years.. so these two older jw ladys come knocking yesterday - one lady about 57 and the other lady older about 71 yrs.old ( i asked how long they had been jw's and told me they both have been in 30 years.

Good Job Flipper; I enjoy a good debate with witnesses. I never let them know I was in for 50 yrs. It's always good to leave them thinking on their on.

Hi Terry; I should mention that to the ex. Her Dad was born in 1898 & knew Rutherford personally. Tough demotion for all those snooty family members with family in as " anointed ones". Makes them equal to the rank & file. LOL!!!

Bonezz; Know how you feel. I don't believe she'll change her mind about having a relationship with you any time soon, but maybe she'll have to answer tough questions from others. Finally Got to Be the Saturday Morning Householder
by mrquik ini visited relatives out of state this weekend and sure enough watched two witnesses going door to door approach the house.
i casually walked out to the front yard and, sure enough an older brother with a young married man in tow came over to me.
i let them go through the usual speil & took the magazines.

I was careful not to mention any WT phrase. I repeatedly went back to flip flops that cost the lives of their members. I got the "light getting brighter" answer. I said "Well as the one true religion led by God certainly God would know. For him to let your members die over a principle you changed years later would violate the cardinal rule of the one true religion, that of loving one another. (No reply to that one.) This went on for 45 minutes.

Hi TTATTE: I too, found Ray's book an eye opener. I had 50 yrs in; 20 as an elder. I immediately called family & friends to warn them of the deception. I immediately lost family & friends. So chose your course of action wisely. For me, I had no other choice regardless of the consequences. Each of us needs to decide which avenue will work the best. My best advice is Live Well ... Enjoy Life. (Also, Good Luck.......Happy Birthday & Merry Christmas. :)

I casually walked out to the front yard and, sure enough an older brother with a young married man in tow came over to me. I let them go through the usual speil & took the magazines. Now they must of thought they had a catch here & the conversation got interesting. Not telling them I was a former witness for 50 yrs. & an elder for 20, I told them I was a Bible student quite familiar with a number of religions & not affiliated with any one in particular. (Which is true.) I questioned the older on the "overlapping generation" theory to with he gave the company answer. I politely reminded him that in it's first fulfillment, Jesus understanding of a generation was 37 yrs. from it's inception to the fall of Jerusalem. He had no reply. I just could not resist & ran through question after question as the young man looked on in surprise. He left asking if he could come back, but I told him I was visiting & was leaving for NY in the morning. I doubt he will ever realize the burning contradictions I left him with, but I hope I opened the young man's eyes. I can not relay the overwhelming satisfaction I had on Saturday morning. If you ever get the chance, try it.

One can only hope. I'd like to see massive desertions from the rank & file. Entire congregations leaving. We'll call it "The Great Awakening". Maybe we'll get our families back from these sick hypocrites.
