One can only hope. I'd like to see massive desertions from the rank & file. Entire congregations leaving. We'll call it "The Great Awakening". Maybe we'll get our families back from these sick hypocrites.

by frankiespeakin inthe old hay days when they could turn a nice profit from selling their printed garbage are over, thanks to recent development in electronics and watchtower corporation policies of strict donation based litterature offer to avoid paying taxes.. when the conti case has finished all apeals and wins $$millions$$, more lawyers will be interested in child molestation cases, more lawsuits will be filed, which could very well break the bank or bankrupt the watchtower corporation in a rather short amount of time.
expect to see desperate attempts by the governing body to collect more money from the rank and file and use what ever scam they can cook up.
they will have to liquidate more property, and continually tapping their free labor source to the maximum with building projects through out the world.

Hi BOC; Ask her if she feels a warning of impending doom given for over a century has any validity. Remind her that in Jesus' prophesy of the "last days" that time period in Jerusalem lasted only 37 years well within a generation. That meant that those who heard his warning were still alive to benefit from it. Keep asking these types of questions. She needs to come to the correct conclusions on her own.

Hi Riks; My ex-wife's family is from Copenhagen. Maybe you knew the Brogaard's. Always loved those 3 hr. dinners when they visited us in NY. I've learned to stay away from aquavit. I suspect the Danes distill this stuff from herring.

Oh, I forgot to mention I got remarried on Valentine's Day. Immediate family really took a burn to that. Have to hand it to my Mom. Even though a diehard witness, she came to my wedding.

Got Df'd after leaving a intolerable marriage. Remarried a wonderful girl. Will be celebrating our 5th anniversary next Feb. I'm viewed by family still in as an "apostate" so most everyone I knew in 4 local congregations avoid me like the plague. I do enjoy watching them squirm when I see them Sat. morning in the donut shop "witnessing".

Former Elders? What did you not like about serving as an elder?

the po/cobe knowing that he needed to have an elders meeting after the meeting but not telling any other elders.

Having to put up with the assertive elders by playing politics. As a kid, we met at one elder's house for the "Babylon the Great" book study. ( Remember that gem?) He heated with wood. The house was at least 90 degrees at every study. He had a Volkswagon sedan we took out in service in the winter. Froze my ass right off. God, how I miss field service, meetings, committees, assemblies, the arrogance, the deceit, the fear.....
