If I would have stayed in I would have been one of the unlucky ones on the RBC to have worked on the Orangeburg SC Assembly Hall. Been completely out for over 2 years and loving it. Instead of spending my money on the Brog I now use my money for more important things. All WT owned assembly halls but large burdens on the JW who attend. I remember when we built the Plant City Assembly Hall at out first assembly the cost was something like $8,000.00. We owned it. Have no idea were all the money went to. Totally ADD P.S. Yes I do.

For those who will research the old teachings and compare it to the new teachings and the light bulb comes on. They will be the weeds that will leave the WT according to the GB. For God does not want weeds in it's clean yard of mono grass. So soon a new teaching will come out of all the weed like people ( ones who think) who do not agree with the GB will be pulled and tossed out of God's clean organization. It's a setup for all the problem ones who use their minds and think. Totally ADD

are the elders waking up too?
by nowwhat? inwe have an older very faithfull elder body and whenever they talk about armegeddon or the end of this system of thiings, they always use "very near, close, soon, etc".
well on the stage one elder when talking about the great tribuation this week , he said "possibly in our lifetime" !!!
that really caught my attention and even my wife's too!

I woke up about 5 year ago. As an elder I knew other elders that thought the GB was crazy about the overlapping generations. The problem with many elders is it's a power trip for them. They like to control others and tell them what to do. With that in mind some are waking up but for the most part even if they don't believe they enjoy the control to much to change. Totally ADD

Having children is bad
by dissonance_resolved inwent to the weeknight meeting this week for the first time in a long while.
the study was all about how having children was ill-advised in this time of the end- the comments dwelled on what a burden children are, how you can spend more time in the ministry without children, and look what they did in jerusalem- they cannabilized their own children!
it's going to be so horrible to watch our children suffer during the great tribulation!

So let me understand this. This weeks study gave the Ill. of the Jew's eating their children becuase things was really bad. So are they saying if we have children we need to worry that we may eat them if things get really bad? Same old bull sh__ from the WT. They been telling JW since WWII not to have children not to get married, don't do this, don't do that. I remember the hate talks the WT gave on children when I was a child and how that made the adults treat us kids like we were crap. It's a cult people. Totally ADD

I heard Jehovah's Witnesses were the first ones on the scene in Boston providing assistance.
by Theocratic Sedition inyou know those articles from the wt are coming, along with emails from jw friends and family.
all the shameless self-attaboys, and fictitious observations by non-jws remarking on how jws provided the most and best assistance to the victims..

I heard they were the first ones there at Jone's Town after everyone committed suicide. The WT was trying to find out what Jone's used so they have the correct formula to use on there follower's in the near future. It's a cult. Always remember that fact. Totally ADD

Being honest & fair, can you think of anything that the Watchtower does that's beneficial to the public?
by Theocratic Sedition ini'm curious, as where i reside there's about to be a major brouhaha over the tax exempt status of a major player in this area.
reading and hearing the arguments from both sides conjured thoughts about the tax exempt status of religions and the arguments associated with that issue.
a significant portion of the arguments related to that issue center around how a tax exempt organization benefits it's community.

by Stubborn Disbeliever ini'm new here, so i thought i'd start with an introduction and summary of my life, for the most part.
i have a tendancy to ramble ridiculously, so bear with me :) and this will be all over the place as thoughts take over the keyboard.. i was born a 5th generation jw.
i never really "felt" it, but was book smart about it.

Welcome to the board Stubborn Disbeliever. Good name. I am so sorry what you went through. I have know many elders, Co's and Do's who drank alot. I knew one CO couple when it was 3:30 every afternoon they had to have a drink. I use to call it beer:30. Time does heal many things but the things we go through as children take along time to get over. You can get over it only if you work real hard at it. If you think you may need help go get it. It is all up to you and not anyone else. Thank you for your story and take care. Totally ADD

In the 1960's he had a comedy show on TV. At the end of the show he would ask the audience to give him a situation of something in life or history. He would just go off with it. He would make me laugh until I was out of breathe. He was Robin Williams mentor in comedy. One of the funnest people to grace this earth. Totally ADD

The Compartmentalization Sympthoms Of The Governing Body's New Light On The Faithful And Discrete Slave Prophecy Fantasy
by frankiespeakin inhuge amounts of compartmentalization to coup with cognitive dissonance.
i'm sure 90% of all readers agree with me when i say this new light is just a fantasy being played out in the minds of the governing body who originate it and in the gullible rank and file who uncritically accept it.
though out the wt study designed to explain the new light we see rampant compartmentalization.

I agree with Dismissing servant. Ater seeing the Doc. called "Waiting on Armageddon" I learned there are many fundemetal groups who teach almost the same thing the WT teaches. It was so sad to see young teenagers sad because they believe they will never marry or have children because the world was going to be destoryed. I just not the WT that causes psychological problems among their subjects it is also any of these end earthers that exist in the U.S. We need to look out for these groups also. Totally ADD
