To tell you the truth. Growing up in the JW cult I saw how loving and positive Xmas was on the kids in school around me. They were all happy and looking forward to being with their family and having fun. Were in the cult all they talk about was hating everybody and waiting for God to kill everbody. Oh yeah go out in field service on Xmas day to give them real good news. SICK! SICK! SICK! At almost 57 my wife keeps telling me I have to learn to be a child again because it was stolen from me as a child. The WT answer to Virginia would scared her to death leaving her crying and shaking. You will never see that kind of kindness in the JW cult. Totally ADD

Expressing love in a positive way compared to JW "TRUTH"
by Terry inseptember 21, 1897 edition of the new york sun carried a famous letter to the editor written by a little 8 year old girl, virginia o'hanlon.. .
the little girl had been told by her friends that santa claus was a myth and she wanted to know the truth of the matter.. at first virginia went directly to her father who she trusted to give her honest answers.
after all, he was a respected doctor!.

Anointed on here - Helping the lies to continue.
by snare&racket ini am new to the forum, but i am suprised to see people that claim to be anointed.
it really frustrates me.
why would god visit you and bless you in a religion you now recognise as false.

Welcome snare&racket to the board. Get it out. This cult causes alot of anger in people. Just remember as wrong the thinking is in the cult. We ar all victims of it. This forum was made for people just like you. Like punkofnice when I served as a elder you could not really help people. Only instruct them in what a letter or WT had to say on the subject. If you are a caring person and really want to help people this cult is not the place to be. Welcome and begin the healing. Totally ADD P.S. If you are like me after writing a post I forget to press Submit button on the bottom left corner.

For one who was not educated to will your words and thoughts have help me in ways you will never know. I was always taught that trust was earned and you have earned every bit of it. Happy for you. Having no regrets is a great feeling. Since our big move up north I am going over in my mind what to do next. Apostate a word that used to bring great fear now is a badge of honor. Totally ADD

Welcome PinkPagamasx from a older guy with ADD. Your story is so true about alot of JW's relatives. They just can't keep their nose out of other peoples business. I am glad both your husband and you realize this is a cult. It is so nice to hear from ones who are not JW's trying to get out. Your insight will be very valuable to all of us. Thanks for coming on board. It's great to have you here. Totally ADD

I walked out of an Elder's Meeting
by AlmightyDog inwell here goes... i apologize in advance if this turns into a long and disjointed rant, but i just have to begin typing in order to keep from exploding.
i realize that what im about to say could seriously jeopardize my anonymity, but i think ive reached the point that i just dont care.
i want this to be over.. let me explain what caused me to rip up a letter and get up and walk out in the middle of an elders meeting two weekends ago.. our boe has been embroiled in a nasty fight for the past 2 years over a certain brothers business dealings.

I feel for you AlmightyDog. I served as a elder for many years. My last congregation I moved into was divided because of a rift between two elders on the body. One of the brothers who was causing problems was a ex-CO. Boy did he know how to lie and cause division among the friends. Because of him and other visits of CO letting him getting away with it I to realized this was not God's organization. Maybe I should thank them all for helping me learn this is a cult. Take a deep breath and take your time in thinking this matter out. Your family and you are more important than any body of elders. That body of elders are just not worth it. Just tell the CO this problem has caused you to have severe health problem due to stress. And thats the truth. Been there, done that. He does not need to know anything else. This will give you time to help your family instead of losing them. Take care I really feel for you. This is what cults are really good at. Totally ADD

I don't remember the name anymore but it happen back in the late 70's. I was out in service with the CO. He ask me why I was not doing more in the cult. I told him my wife and I was just blessed by Jehovah with a baby boy and I had to work more to support them. Back then 5 dollars a hour did not go very far. He told me Jehovah did not bless you with a baby all I did was have sex with someone. I have forgotten his name but never what he said to me. To me he was one of the most evil persons on earth. July 15th WT- Don't Research " False Stories " - Inspired by Satan !
by flipper ini know the poster lost generation made a fantastic thread on this july 15th apostate article, however - i noticed some very powerful points on pg.
17 paragraphs 9 - 11 which weren't brought out that i feel needed to be touched on.
as was brought out in his thread this article told jw's to avoid apostates because they are " mentally diseased " allegedly and to avoid their web sites, not read their literature, watch t.v.
-

Hi flipper. I didn't know I was mentally diseased. Maybe it is because of all the abuse I went through with the JW cult. It is getting to the point when the WT speaks anyone with a ounce of brains gets sick to their stomach. Is it me or are they getting even more paranoid lately. I just don't remember this kind of talk by them years ago. It could of been because I was mentally diseased back then. LOL. Totally ADD

Welcome to the bright side of the moon. As a former fellow elder I understand completely what you went through. I thought for awhile I was reading my story. Now with that said you now have a great opportunity before you. You said it yourself as you looked around the table and saw your wife and kids in a diffrent light for the first time in awhile. Great, keep seeing that and work hard to keep that going. Also as a burn-out ex-elder give yourself time to heal and to make sense of how you can help your family get out of the clutches of the JW cult. If you have a boy I am sure you would never want him to go through what you have. If you have a girl never would you want her to be subject to some power hungy want to be elder. I know you have alot to deal with and think about. Let this forum be one of the tools to helping you move forward with your life. Great to have a person like you on board. Looking forward to your viewpoints and thoughts on many matters. Take care. Totally ADD

Before I left for good I was the PO and went to KM school for PO's in 2009 at Patterson. On the very first day class the instructor told us the word GB is Biblicial. He told us to turn to (Heb 13:17) NWT reference bible which said "Be obedient to those who are taking the lead among YOU* and be submissive" using the asterisk next to YOU he referred to the footnote at the bottom of the page. There on verse 17 it said "Or, "are governors of you" Greek, he gou me'nois hy mon' See Mt 2:6 ftn, "Governors." Our instructor goes on to say "see the use of the word GB is in the Bible. Afterward I keep reading this verse saying to myself this is the scripture we use to the R&F to listen to the elders. Then I think does that mean all elders are on the GB. That was the first time I have seen the WT twist a will know verse to support the word GB. Remember I was waking up about the WT at this time. So according to the WT the word GB is in the Bible. Am I missing something here? Totally ADD
