When we moved away I keep only 2 suits. They are brand new and expensive. I guess I will always have two brand new suits in my closet now. Because I don't see me wearing them anytime soon. LOL Funny thing is the ones I got rid of was wore out or out of date. So now I have more underwear than suits. Totally ADD

What Actually Made You Leave The Organization?

i took the course of fading and it's worked pretty well for me.

Punkofnice what you said is the truth. As a elder we would get sometimes 10 to 15 letters per month to the BOE on things on what we should do or not do. I would get so sick of it all. Turn out alot of it was lawyer talk legal stuff letters. Then the GB putting themselves up on a pedestal. I would think what do we need Jesus for when we got the GB. Those were the big red flags that started coming up for me. Then the lack of love among those in the congregation. Where CA or DC was more important than showing love to ones of the faith who have just lost loved ones. It truly is a cult. Totally ADD

Watchtower baptism thousands of Children
by Marvin Shilmer inwatchtower baptism thousands of children.
today i uploaded a new article to my blog comparing what watchtower said about jesus and baptizing children with what watchtower had been doing for years.
my article is titled watchtower baptism thousands of children and is available at: http://marvinshilmer.blogspot.com/2011/08/watchtower-baptism-thousands-of.html.

Whatever happen to the teaching that the parents being baptised protected their children? It was like a protective umbrella the children were under. I was 16 when I got baptised and I only did it because some pioneer told me I could not be used in anything in the hall unless I was baptised. All the wrong reasons. Which shows I was way to young to make such a big decision that would effect me for the rest of my life. Totally ADD

Oh, you are a born-in. You had it easy!
by TotallyADD inafter reading sabastious post on when did you lose your confidence.
i started thinking about what it was like in the early 70's when large groups of people were coming into the wt cult because of the 1975 teaching.
talking with these people they whould tell me how hard it was for them to become a jw.

Need help waking up a JW friend - Significant prophetic years in JW history
by SweetBabyCheezits inguys, i have a chance to help an old friend but i'm pressed for time.
i'll be googling while i'm waitin for responses but i thought others might have some great sources that are harder to find.. first, can anyone recommend a list or website that lists all the infamous years that russell and other leaders expected to have special significance?
it's been too long since i've read up on all of that but i'm thinking about the years like 1799, 1874, 1881, 1910, 1914, etc.... but i need it to be concise, like a table, and i must be able to list references to scans at least.

What's The Worst Thing About Being A Witness?
by minimus infor me, a jehovah's witness does not have a real life!
jw's are like trained soldiers.
they could be fervent or lax or happy or unhappy in their role but they are trained to drone on like stepford wives.. what an utter waste of an existence being a jehovah's witness!.

I go to bed and wakeup to find more of your great comments. This has really given me a feel of how everybody is feeling.
Hortensia: Choosing to be happy and making it real I think is what everybody here on this forum is trying to do. I liken it to going on a very long trip. But you have all this baggage you are carrying. As time goes on you have to decide what baggage you no longer need. So you let go of it and leave in on the side of the road and forget about so your trip is easier and you have lighten your load. At the end of the trip you have a whole new prospective on life.
Band on the Run: I remember the Cuban missle crisis as a kid. I thought I was going to die in a nuclear attack. And yes living with the idea that the big A is coming is like living through the Cuban missle crisis everyday. Good point.
exwhyzee: I hated those CA experiences also where everybody is applauding a bad person becoming good while all of us who did nothing bad were ighored. Until someone wanted something then they walk all over you and took advanage of you.
Berongaria: I think I am the tree with the bicycle in it. Good viual illustration. Be glad when that damm thing rust off.LOL
EmptyInside: As a child I always wish I could have seen both sides but was told I didn't need to the WT has all the answers for you.
sizemik: Thanks for the meaning of prat. Both my wife and I did not know.
Awen: The human spirit is strong in us born-ins and converts. We will prevail in our exit form the cult.
LV101: I think the book idea is great. I think I know someone who would love a project like that.
Stillthinking: Thank You. I needed that. Take care.
Again Thanks for all who have commented on this thread. Totally ADD
