You have me thinking back a fair few years, but can these questions be adequately explained on logical grounds when by the same token they cannot be explained on metaphysical grounds either?

explorer spoke about ex-jw's hating jw's and spoke about forgiveness.. i dug up an article from the 12/1/97 watchtower.. in paragraph 15, under the sub-heading, when it seems impossible to forgive, the article stated this:.
what, though, if others sin against us in a way that inflicts the deepest of wounds, and yet there is no acknowledgement of the sin, no repentance, and no apology on the part of the offender?
(proverbs 28:13) the scriptures clearly indicate that jehovah does not forgive unrepentant, hardened sinners.

I found I had to forgive, not for the WTBTS, but for my own well-being.
It is not healthy to carry around hurts....deep wounds....and feel deep rage and hatred when we all realize rationally that there is NEVER going to be an apology.

has anyone ever addressed the incidence of domestic violence in witness families?
i am relatively new here and don't want to cover old ground.. thinking back, i can name multiple examples of households in each congregation i attended where domestic violence was evident.. i have an active protective order against my ex.
who is still active in the congregation he attends.
My sister was a woman who endured domestic violence within the WTBTS and when she approached the elders she was told that she could not divorce him and neither would they assist her unless she was beaten within an inch of her life being take.
She went and found herself a nice young man, slept with him, and got herself a scriptural divorce.
She actually ended up marrying this man and is still a JW again....but she suffered shockingly.

as someone with one toe still dangling in the truth i have a question for you.... if you had not gone through the pedophile experience and started your crusade....how would you have felt with regard to boards such as this one?
obviously most other jw's believe this place is overrun by disgruntled apostates and would want nothing to do with anyone here.. i am just intrigued to know what you would have felt about this place prior to your experience (also about freeminds and ray franz).

I too went through a phase of not wanting to get into a mode of "let's get the JW's"
In all honesty I do not want to "get" them to this day, despit what I suffered at their hands.
There are a lot still "in" that I love dearly. But that does not mean I condone child abuse; not with JW's or with any organization of people.
As SL has said, it depends also of 'your'definition of the word 'apostate'.
My definition is simply..."to leave behind".......this comes from the Greek word Apostasis.
It is not a word that means 'against JW's'. I do not feel that they, or anyone for that matter, should flatter themselves to the extent of taking one word in a language and using it as specific to themselves.
