i remember when i was going to the meetings there were questions that i had which i could never get good answers too.

just one of them i had was how to explain how you knew if you were one of the one hundred and forty four thousand.

i remember trying to explain this to one of my work friends and the reasoning of you just know, like you know if u are a boy or girl sounded stupid to him.

Why is the Holy Spirit sometimes on the fritz?

EG. When I was an Eldub and we held a JC and the verdict was Public RepooooooooooOOOOOOooOOOoof! Then why was 7 days given to appeal that desicion if it had come from God via Holy spirit?? Will an infallible, all knowing, all seing God suddenly realise he made a big mistake within 7 days??

Why have men been appointed 'by Holy Spirit', when they were involved in 'DF' offences (filthy paedos for eg), before, during and/or after their appointment??

......................................oh, wait a minute I think I have the answer................................the watchtower organization is just a big pyramid anti-Christ business posing as religion so the leaders can live like rock stars. Silly me!!!

Would the UN shut them down? I know the UN is powerless but perhaps the member countries could agree.

The GB obviously have no real loving regard for the value of life (blood etc).

I wouldn't put it past them with their 'rule or ruin' policy that if the washtowel is going down they wouldn't enforce mass suicide.

After all as I recall, the cults that did suicide weren't seen to be destructive until they did take the 'koolaid'.

As much as I don't care if the GB kill themselves, I don't want them to kill my family.

It would be ironic if the UN did shut them down due to human rights abuses (which they ARE guilty of).

Snag is if this happened, the Dub's would see this as PROOF they have the 'TrOOOoooooOOoooooOoooooth' and the big A is 'SOON'!

Counting Time

i tried to do a minimum 30 hours a month field service.

however, if we had only been allowed to count the time of "the actual conversations" we had with householders at the door i wonder what the real figure would be?.

i think mine would easily have been less than 1 hour per month.

I don't know if this comes under the banner of 'doctrine' but here goes......

When I was an Eldub and hosting a JC, if for e.g. it was decided to give a public reproof or whatever, we were told this was a desicion of Jar-Hoover's holy spirit. However, we were then to give the 'sinner' 7 days to appeal that desicion.

This helped me out of the Borg because how can someone be given 7 days to appeal against a desicion that comes from an infallible God? Was God on the fritz? Did he need to be given evidence he as the 'all seeing one' missed? Made no sense to me until I read 'Combatting Cult Mind Control' by Steven Hassan!

............................and.............................

How come the Borg went to such great lengths, letters and meetings to prevent the R&F even so much as seeing a new 'flock book'? Practically every non JW from here to Helsinki can get their hands on a download of it. I got mine before the Eldubs in my old congregation got theirs.

If God were in control of the JW's and the instructions came from him via the GB then God would se to it that no one other than Eldubs could get a copy!

I HATE THE WATCHTOWER

lately it enrages me to read all the bs on the watchower!!!!!!!

when i started my fade i felt sad and quietly resentful, but now i'm just flat-out angry!!!!.

I'm with you ele. I have tried to analyse exactly why I hate the washTowel but couldn't care less about the Moonies or scientologists.

Simple. They made a fool out of me BIG TIME and now they are holding my wife and family in their hypnotic grip. No matter what I say, what logic I give or scriptural reasoning or whatever..........my family won't listen.

They have labeled me 'spiritually weak' (cult loaded language designed to promote 'us vs: them'), and they refuse to talk to me about 'spiritual' things (again cult loaded language to make them feel superior).

All I get is the glazed look, robotic respones with the usual (which makes me laugh now believe it or not), 'You know it's the 'truth'.......they're just imperfect men.......they are not inspired by Jar-Hoover but they are inspired by Jar-Hoover.........Armageddon will be SOON (terms and conditions apply subject to overlapping)................where else will you go?'

I think the point I'm making is, I'd dearly like to see the GB punished because IT'S PERSONAL!!' That's where the loathing is.

If there is a god the GB will get what's coming to them........if there isn't a god.....get on with life and leave them to fester in their own excrement. With time you'll find the hatred turns into indifference.

Something that helped me was writing scathing but humourous storied about the GB on another forum!

Strange Memorial Story

a couple of quick strange memorial stories.. the elder giving the talk one year went astray and talked about the comet, hale bop possibly being a celestial sign or some nonsense like that.

he spent a good ten minutes on this.

it put the crowd into silence, although he was a great speaker.

This just proves to me that 'independant thinking' is a brilliant thing but NOT when used to prop up watchtower propoganda.

My late Dad (bless him), always said : "Once something is said from the platform it becomes law!" I see his point. Now if I could just bribe someone to make it law to ignore the Governing Body we'd be in for some fun!

Crisis such as the new 'flock' book being available to every one on the planet apart from those in the congregations of Jar-Hoover's witlesses.

This to me seems to be a major leak....was it from a high level defector (conscious class?)???? I hope so.

The internet surely has dented their credability as the R&F can research the hidden often dark side of the GB.

UN membership, Randcam and laundering money from Philip Morris tobacco company whilst disfellowshipping R&F for smoking 'watchtower brand' fags (sorry I'm a Brit, cigarettes if you are in the US. I type as I would talk, LOL).

The crisis seems to me to be 2 fold. Financial and disclosure of damaging information.
