i have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.
(((truman)))
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My sincere condolances.
You are supported and loved here, it doesn't matter whether you have lots of posts or not.
I have experienced a recent loss, too...my favorite brother who was non-jw.
Love and hugs,

"my dream has come true" i have a bullshite story in the latest watchtower..
With that began all the layoffs. The CEO realized how much money he could save by laying off a few employees and reducing the hours of others.
Ca-ching! Ca-ching! *wishing he had thought of it himself"
The employees who got laid off/reduced hours hated her guts! "It's all your fault, you fanatic!" They yelled and hurled rocks as they cornered her in the parking lot.
Geez, I didn't know I had it in me...

on 4/6, the poster orphan annie posted about her experiences with jw's and her ill husband.
unfortunately, her husband died monday, and she is feeling very sad.
i just wanted to make others aware of it, so that we can encourage her and give her some much needed support during this rough time.. her original thread is here.
Orphan Annie
My sincere condolances to you.
Sometimes it helps just to know that people care.
Please let us know how you are doing.
Love,

ever hear of this?
does ny approve?.
jehovahs witness drug rehab.
I'd say it is not a JW approved site.
JW elders would deny that drug rehabilitation is needed. They would quote the scripture in Timothy that states "All scriptures inspired of gawd and beneficial for setting things straight." Anyone who has got in the "wrong" company and got involved with drugs would be "encouraged" to talk to an elder about the "secret sin."
Then the drug user would promptly be disfellowshipped.
Elders' first concern is keeping the congregation "clean" rather than actually helping someone in need.
Can you feel the love?

on this forum, i have carefully read most of the experiences of those who left the jw religion, i have even read experiences that have dated back to 2001, i have read the different circumstances surrounding their exits and what ensued upon leaving.
for the majority, i observed they are better remainning in the religion than leaving.
what benefit is there to strain family relationship because you want to be free?, please tell me, of what value is that freedom?,.
The pain of staying in was greater than the pain of getting out.
In the end, I'm glad I left.

here on this forum there are so many sinners, many here are doing things that will bring god's wrath upon themselves.
consider yourself if you in some aspect fit the description in romans 1:28-32:.
and just as they did not approve of holding god in accurate knowledge, god gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting, filled as they were with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, badness, being full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malicious disposition, being whisperers, backbiters, haters of god, insolent, haughty, self-assuming, inventors of injurious things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, false to agreements, having no natural affection, merciless.

i got into one of those extended conversations with relatives i haven't spoken to in ages.
it was full of things unsaid and careful avoidance of saying too much about the organization.
lots of nice social hypocrisy, so nobody gets upset in the fairy-tale world of watchtower-ism.. is there any discreet, tactful, inoffensive way to tell them, "the organization is dying"?

How about: "...The Organization is passing away and so its desire......."

he was walking with such a slump, dragging his feet, carrying a jacket, magazines barely visible just hanging from his fingertips.
if body language has any validity to it, this man was deeply discouraged and depressed.
i remember that slump too.
Awww... I feel sorry for the elderly ones who have been waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting for the "New World" to arrive. I know a bro who declined taking a company pension with the railway, where he worked all his life. When his workmates asked him why, he laughed and said, "I won't need it. The New Order is coming any day!"
Well, now he walks with that same dejected look that you describe. He and his wife have had to sell their house because they can no longer afford it. He has no company pension and collects a meager Canada Pension which keeps a person in a state of poverty.
And no New Order in sight.
I wonder if he has figured it out yet... he has been seriously lied to.
