For those who think being a Jejovah's Witness isn't so bad...listen up!
Sorry for you, dear.
growing up my mom told me that my father passed away from a heart attack in 1989 and i always believed her.
a few yrs ago i went snooping in her closet and found my fathers medical records.
i took them without her knowing and read them when i got home.. i have worked in hospitals all my life and i am an rn, im use to reviewing records.
For those who think being a Jejovah's Witness isn't so bad...listen up!
Sorry for you, dear.
before i dive into the actual write-up of this experience, let me put some things straight.. i have thought long and hard if i should write more about my experiences during the 10+ years at different branches.
during these years i worked from financial department, service department, home office and different it assignments.
as you can imagine one sees and hears and reads a lot of stuff going through different stations in different countries.
I look forward to your next post. None of this surprised me.
faking of hours in field service or dragging service time out by making coffee stops or driving for hours "between" household contacts are never frowned upon, let alone mentioned, in the publications.
.
yet, in each congregation of jehovah's witnesses, to one degree or another, faking hours, padding time out with coffee stops and long journeys between opportunities to "witness" are endemic practices..
In one congregation I know, the young pioneers do a 24 hour Field Service. They all jump in a van and head down the interstate highway and stop at truck stops and gas stations. They take turns driving and don't return until they have 24 hours. This of course is a very social time and probably for flirting and for dating without really dating purposes.
this is a very strange thing for me to do.
i have been an active witness for over 25 years.
i currently serve as an elder and i conduct the watchtower study.
Welcome dear brother. We are here for you and we care. Thanks for starting this interesting thread.
this week's service meeting had another part about women wearing head coverings.there's already been a post about it, but i would like some thoughts from the forum on the scripture referenced.
11: 3-10. i want to focus on verses 4-6. it says this (nnwt):.
"4)every man who prays or prophesies with something on his head shames his head; 5) but every woman who prays or prophesies+ with her head uncovered shames her head, for it is one and the same as if she were a woman with a shaved head.
I guess having your head shaved is better for a woman than being impregnated without prior consent or being raped and forced to marry your rapist, as the good god Jehovah directed to have happen to other women in the Bible.
this is part 3 of a series of posts i plan to make.
the book has 16 chapters.. i will write my comments of steven hassan's latest book, freedom of mind: helping loved ones leave controlling people, cults, and beliefs.. you can purchase the book in amazon.com, there is a kindle version which is very handy since you can read it wherever you have internet connection, or if you have an iphone, an ipad, android phone, etc.. you can get it here:.

When I found out we had been in the UN I got so sick I almost threw up.
what kinds of things would you like to do if you were out of the organization?
and if you're already out and free, what kinds of things did you do that you really wanted to do but couldn't because it was against jw beleiefs?.
recently, i overheard some of the younger crowd of jw's after a meeting talking about how they wished they could have this or do that, get tattoos, play the newest video games (you know, the ones with all the violence and realistic 'kickass' graphics and such), grow out their beards for 'no shave november" wear miniskirts and dye their hair crazy colours... etc.
I voted, joined a skeptics meet up, started dating, watched a lot of r rated movies and am celebrating birthdays and holidays. I love it.
i have learned to stay away from all religion and jehovahs wittness doctrine (that includes the watchtower and awake magazines).
stay away from positions of ministerial servant, pioneer, aux pioneer, elder, and the like.
once you become a full fledged jehovah wittness you are doomed to be unhappy.
Welcome to JWN. We look forward to hearing more from you.
it's hard to believe it was only a little over a year ago i received my first official rbc assignment.
i was so excited i posted about it on facebook, to many likes from my fellow jw friends.. fast forward to this year, learning ttatt and fading (last meeting was the memorial and special talk).. i've received my fourth email, in the past two months, asking for rbc help.. stifling urge to hit reply all, with a jwfacts and candace conti case web link.... isn't it amazing how much your life and worldview can change in 1 year?.
Yes, but something tells me you are going to do just fine.
