  i've published a new article on my blog explaining where things are up to with the candace conti case.. as well as detailing the latest developments, i also summarize the events since june and reveal some of kathleen conti's thoughts on what's in store for the watchtower.. here is the link:.

  Once I read "The Atheist's Book of Bible Stories" and realized that not only was the Watchtower Society not gods earthly visible organization but also the Bible was not really the word of God, it really didn't take too long. There just isn't any other realistic conclusion. In the beginning, when I would read atheist's posts on jen, I would bristle. Now I am one of them!

  Rutherford's love letter to Hitler

  has anyone ever thought to send a copy of rutherford's letter to hitler & declaration of facts to the holocaust museum in washington, d.c.?

  they have and entire section dedicated to the jehovah's witness in that museum.

  i would hate for tourists to visit the museum and not get the whole story.. i would also assume there are jw displays at other holocaust museums around the world.

  I see these mug shots of Rutherford and he looks like he knows he's in big trouble. He liked to drink and knew he would be cut off from his alcohol also.

  Not Sure What I Believe In Anymore

  inside my head is a tangled ball of wool when it comes to what i believe.

  i have days where i believe in a creator and other days when i don't.

  then there are times when i refer to this as believing in 'something' but what exactly this something is, i have no idea.

  I have been going to skeptic's meetings and blog sites. After just a very short time, I can not believe I ever could have believed in god. My heart still longs for it to be true that we have a loving creator, my my brain knows it is just not so.

  on the san diego craigslist someone is curious about jws.. i thought some people here who use craigslist might want to give them the heads up about the religion.

  i did, posted links to here, freeminds, and the usual suspects, including the official site.

  (i am quite fair minded).

  Good for you, helping someone else find out the awful truth about jehovah's witnesses. I am sure they were given plenty of good resources. I have been going around gathering up watchtower and awake magazines from laundramats and bus stations so that they don't fall into some ones hands and ruin more people's lives.

  Duane Magnani and the "no meetings" child custody injunction

  i talked to duane and he mentioned that due to the abundance of damning material he has on file that can be used in a court against the society....it is not uncommon for the society to coerce the "believing" parent into signing it.

  it is basically an injunction that says that the "believing" parent is not allowed to take the kids to any meetings or discuss any society based beliefs with them at all until the children are of "legal" age.

  based on the litany of info against them......evidently the society gladly coerces the "believing" parent into signing it.....even though they know it means that the "little sheep" (the children) will be kept away from the meetings.

  When we went to the exJW meetup in Chicago a couple of months ago, we met a lovely sister who got the judge to order her husband, (her daughter's father) not to talk to the daughter about the religion nor take her to the meetings. This was a landmark case here in Illinois. I think she has a facebook page about it so maybe you could search for it. I'm sorry I can't remember what name it's under. If I think of it, I will let you know.

  I did recycle all the magazines that I had accumulated over the past ten years. The books all went into our disgusting dumpster, unwrapped, so that they were mixed with all the other trash and debris. It was a cleansing experience.

  A lunchtime spotting of JWs on their break from door-knocking...

  not that big of a deal, but it is kind of humorous.... my wife and i went to a local mcdonald's for lunch.

  yes, i know all the bad things that are in their foods... but it's difficult to find lunch places that are 'healthy' and low-cost.. anyway, she went and sat down, and i ordered the food.

  as i came round the corner with the tray filled with burger, fries and the cups for our sodas, i spotted a group of four women sitting at one of the tables.. folks... i just want to make one thing very clear.

  You should have stuck out your foot and tripped one of them on the way out. They would have rejoiced, viewing it as persecution.
