  for those of us who have made the clean break, did you keep any of your old jw stuff?

  books, "service" bag, etc?.

  i didn't keep a shred myself.

  I have my Bible that was my father´s....And his WT he studied the week he died. That is all. That is all I need. Still have my suits. I look too good in them. Since I am attending a non denom church now I wear them sometimes.

  today, many moviegoers will entertain themselves with a movie called 'the avengers'.

  filled with violent content, spiritism, and demonic overtones, it is hardly any surprise that those who are affected by 'the spirit of the world' will be drawn to its themes.

  SD, Hilarious! Love your posts! I am just an old school comic fan. I am sticking with Marvel Essential volumes. That is the REAL Marvel. How about doing a Black Panther movie with a white guy in it? Same thing. I do not think changing races of an established character is right nor good. Invent a NEW character if ya have to! Oh well. Wifey and I are planning on seeing tomorrow and if I squint really hard maybe Fury will be like he was in the original comics.

  Any advice on how to stop attending meetings without being hounded?

  it seems many are attending without wanting to be there at all.. what suggestions can we offer?.

  Do what I did. Change to the spanish congregation. Have them send your cards there. Since the spanish do not know you AND you do not speak their language....Easy peasy Japanesy.

  i was driving home the other evening pondering the past couple of turbulant years for me and my family.

  i reflected back on my appointment as a ministerial servant and my attitude, beliefs and thinking at the time.

  i thought about the subsequent misery that being a servant brings once the the glow wears off and people stop "commending you on your fine spiritual progress.

  Kingdom Hall got Disassociated

  well, i thought i've seen everything.. a congregation in our city just sold thier kingdom hall.

  they must have been desparate, because they sold it to an evangelical group for an amount less than what they boasted about.

  but, these are hard financial times.. all i could remember is the 25 yrs ago, dedication talk.

  Same thing happened with my old hall. A sister GAVE the society the land right next to her house so she would always have a Kingdom Hall right next door to attend....Well in just 10 years they sold it to the Methodists and built another hall on the other side of the highway. Pissed the sister off that they broke their word to her that she moved to Florida shortly after.

There was a personal one I know of...the object was to get as many studies as possible when the C.O. was visiting...Well....I was with this couple that got a study. They left mexico the following week and never turned the study over to ANYONE! Some study they got...

  was killed, was meant to kill everyone, and would have; but the bomb

  backwards so the force or the blast was away from the friends, rather

  2. A new Hall was built in Brooklyn. However, a large tree was
  
  inconveniently located in the center of the parking lot. A city
  Ordinance forbade its
  
  removal. That night, a storm blew it down, and it conveniently fell in

  middle of the street. No harm came to the Hall. Because it blocked the
  
  street, the city of New York had to remove it, at no expense to the
  brothers.
  
  
  3. In Florida, a Hall building was delayed, because the basement hadn't
  
  been back filled and the brothers had no means to do so. While the

  were at the site, a bulldozer showed up, did the job, and drove off. He
  
  told his boss he'd finished the job at the Hall. The boss replied,
  "'Hall'!?
  
  I told you to go to the 'mall!'" The job was done at No expense to the

  to where it was available to the friends. The project was completed, and

  6. In Poland, where the work was, at the time, done underground, 3
  elders
  
  were working on a country road. The sky was cloudy. Suddenly a bolt of
  
  lightning killed the middle brother. The other 2 hurriedly hid his body

  bushes, so that they could go and remove literature, etc. from his home
  
  before the officials came. (The officials would take over any
  possessions
  
  they found and would give them to whomever they felt could use them.)

  his possessions were found a complete list of all the Witnesses from
  miles
  
  around. He was not a brother, but an impostor, planning to turn this

  dashboard of the car. As they drove along, they passed through five
  roadblocks
  
  and each time they were waved to go on through because of the policeman
  
  being in the car. When they reached the end, the policeman thanked him
  and got
  
  out. The brother asked him what the roadblocks were for. The policeman
  
  replied, "Oh, those Jehovah's Witnesses try to get through with their
  
  literature and this is set up to stop them." So he had escorted the
  brother right
  
  through with his literature! >
