  Notice too that this is a man who eventually was a gb member. If you read that article you are almost compelled to conclude that in view of his numerous weird comments this man is a simpleton. And yet he was seen to be a "good candidate" for the gb. Just sayin!!

  Why I Like the "Proclaimers" Book

  while it is true that the "proclaimers" book is not always as open and honest about the society's history as it claims to be, it is open and honest enough to bring into question the society claim to being god's organization.

  it's a matter of (1) knowing what to look for, (2) where to find it and then, (3) to be able get the sense of what it means.. take for example the extremely important matter of the second coming of christ.... on the top of page 47 the book truthfully explains how president charles russell came to believe that jesus returned invisibly in 1874 to begin his second coming ("invisible presence").

  and then a careful reading of the footnote on page 133 shows that the date of jesus' return was not changed to 1914 until 1943.. it is likely that even if some witnesses notice that fact, they do not get the sense of what it means.

  TD - Just to be clear then, when I was told that they/russell pointed forward to 1914 some 30 or so years prior that is all bunko. This was a big thing to me and remained so. It was, like even though what they said would happen in 1914 was not accurate (their being taken to heaven) the fact that a world war started/happened was a big deal. And you would say that their is no way I would find in print the statement that 1914 was significant as early as 1885 or so?

  WT Society's Paranoia Over Spiral Binding of Elder's Textbook - Crazy

  this letter was sent as an addendum to the elders regarding their latest elders textbook.

  i think you'll find this interesting and also disconcerting as well.. to all bodies of elders.

  This book of all books that the society publishes has "got" to be from Jehovah through his holy spirit. It is an overall treatise from Jehovah as to how he wants them to conduct themselves in a faithful and discreet manner as his faithful slave. And yet they want to hold it close to the chest so to speak, not even sharing Jehovah's spirit directed guidance. Wouldn't this be the ultimate study material for the whole congregation so that all would fully understand how Jehovah is guiding the flock today?

  Current GB 2.0 members arent excatly young guys.... (please read)

  with john barr passing away, the current gb 2.0, are under the age of 80, but there not excatly young.

  if i'm not mistaken the oldest gb member is either guy pierce or sam herd, both are in their mid to upper 70's?

  what would happen if more gb members were to pass away in the next two to three years?

  The newest light will soon be that it should have been body governing not governing body. Something like the catholics and the Pope. As a result there will be no replacing as they die off. So the question will be who will last out long enough to be the body governing or the new pope?
