today i got accepted to a christian university and we had an earthquake!!!
the college is located here in va and is the largest christian university in the us.
my husband is worried about the money but the fact that it's liberty u upsets him more.. otherwise things are good between us things are tense on meeting days.
How are things going since my exit? Good question. Education seems to be a sore spot. I admire your husband wanting to make things work out amoung both of you. I have seen many go to university, and they don't come out with Devil horns sticking out of their heads. I have seen many University grads unemployed and heavily in debt as well. This recession is horrible, and it really puts pressures on the families.
Some think that we will be celebrating Birthdays soon. But, no cake, no candles.
does anyone here think this command still applies in force today as it did 2000 years ago?.

i always found it a bit deceptive to say we attended five meetings a week, when in reality it was only 3. now that there are meetings only twice a week, do witnesses still claim to attend 5 meetings a week or four?.

Let's see now. We have 21 meals a week. If we break that down to days, it works out to 3 meals a day. Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner. Sometimes I sneak in a 4th one because of my pizza addiction.
I noticed that they also consider the Field Service as a Meeting for Field Service, too. So.....oh it's so confusing ..I like Straight Shooters comment. We have too many meetings.

let say noah did manage to get all the species into the ark... about half of them would have been predators and the other half natural prey.. are we going to belive that they went without eating for 40 days and nights?
or the ridiculous theory as the wt would have it that noah fed them nice tasty bales of straw which they happily munched on?.
and even if one of these two exhuses were true, when the animals were let out of the ark into a world now deverstated by a flood, then wouldn't they have continued eating eachother???

i've just read at a spanish forum for ex-jw that the wt has cooked a new light article series about social celebrations, including birthdays and aniversaries.
according to a member of this forum 'in short' the wt will let witnesses to decide by 'their bible trained conscience' either they celebrate birthdays or not.
is this rumor based in some real facts or it's just bullshit?.

Actually, the reason I believe in the flood account, is because Jesus mentioned it in his teachings

my mother told me of 2 young guys that have been appointed elders.. i could'nt belive it these guys have zero life experance and both their wifes walked out on them after a few years of marrage.. another one cooked his brain on drugs and his talks are painfull to listen to....all over the place and stumbles through them.. .
is it due to alot of young ones (60 to 70%) leaving and the pool to pick from is getting smaller so lowering the bar is the only way???
