She is not the first JW to attend a Birthday party. It's not a DF offense. I'm not against her attending a non witness funeral. That is a conscience matter. It was her son that died.

after many years of visiting this site off and on since its inception i would finally like to throw in my two cents and opinions into the mix.. first of all, i am a born in, baptized at the tender age of 9. although i totally disagree with allowing someone at that age to get baptized, i will say that i was very imformed and i knew my dogma!

at the same time, though, i was aware of many inconsistancies with many of the beliefs and practices of the jw faith.

i was adopted by my grandparents since i was 2 months and they had been jws since 1950s.

You had really invested a lot into the faith, and should be commended. Don't be too hard on yourself for the lost ti me. Don't blame God. It takes courage to really question and expect answeres from any belief system, especially with the leaders don't want you to do so.

Funny thing, in the 50's when my mother was told by the Catholic Priest to not ask questions when JW's came to her door. She converted and was ostrasized by her Catholic Church. Now, that the tables are turned, the ORG are saying the same things to their members. So bizarre.

Wouldn't the predators on the ark have eaten everything by the time the 40 days was over?

let say noah did manage to get all the species into the ark... about half of them would have been predators and the other half natural prey.. are we going to belive that they went without eating for 40 days and nights?

or the ridiculous theory as the wt would have it that noah fed them nice tasty bales of straw which they happily munched on?.

and even if one of these two exhuses were true, when the animals were let out of the ark into a world now deverstated by a flood, then wouldn't they have continued eating eachother???

I can't seem to paste the reference from Josephus, but he mentions Jesus in his "Jewish Antiquities XX 200 (ix, 1) section of his book.

But I agree, It is off topic though remotely related to the flood question. I want you to know that it's ok if you don't, or others don't believe in the flood. It takes faith to believe in the Noachin flood. The secular method of dating and the various ancient history accounts conflicts with the Genesis story. You can't even find the Ark or remnants of it. The other things you mention about the Gospel Acct are off topic as well.

My freedom concept was also challenged? Still off topic.

You guys are hillarious. There have been so many articles, some many books writting by the society about why you/we/me should pioneer.

The book that doesn't mention pioneering is the Bible. Nowhere is it found in that book.
