In Canada at least, you could get/buy the reverse address book (?) from Canada Post, which listed all addresses/names for a postal code/area.. please correct me if i'm wrong, it's been 15 years since telephone/letter witnessing ;)

Witnessing by Mail - Where Do They Get the Addresses From???

i'm wondering where the publishers get their address lists when they do 'witnessing-by-mail'.. i live in a gated community (moved here 6-years ago).
this week i received a letter addressed to my *parents* (mr. & mrs. xxxxxxx xxxxx) who have been divorced for 17 years and neither of whom have *ever* lived at this address.. i'm thinking the "mr & mrs" part is just an assumption on their part.. from time to time i get mail address to my father (blue cross solicitations, etc), but he has never used my address as his own and has never lived here.. any suggestions as to just how the local cong would get his name and my address on their mailing list??????.

I think you're confusing Atheists with Agnostics?
A hard-core, 100%, Level 7 (on the Dawkins scale - Dawkins said he is a 6) will say that God does not exist.

however the law in question was reported to be the sabbath; so it must not have been considered stealing?.

If I recall, the poor ones of Israel were allowed to 'glean' on the outskirts of the wheat field. Jewish farmers were to leave a certain, small portion of the wheat for such people.
And, if I recall Paul's words, he was mostly for being self-sufficient and usually wouldn't take charity from the congregations, but did accept it on occasion..

you know, bible historicty aside, if the scripture said just "three days," I'd say it maybe was 3 days and maybe it wasn't 3 days. But it explicitly says 3 days and 3 nights.. that 1950 watchtower article is just another example of the WT's favourite past-time of inserting meanings when the scriptures are clear..

@MS : the court was confused as well, over the proper name of the Watchtower. I think it's on the first page or two of the judgement (that ohio pdf) in a footnote, where they basically chose one of the two names lol..
