What would you say to a friend who claims to have experienced demons?
by InterestedOne inmy jw friend says she experienced demons act on their own behalf even before she became a jw.
she supposedly used to be an atheist, but her experience with demons led her to believe in the "spiritual realm" before she ever encountered jw's.
she says her ex-boyfriend & his friend used to do the ouija board & as a result have a demon following them around.

Do you find JW's have a way of getting in your head & you can't shake it?
by InterestedOne ini have a jw acquaintance whom i do odd jobs for because we supposedly became friends a few years ago.
we became acquainted before i knew about her worldview.
when i do odd jobs for her, sometimes in passing she will make not-overtly-religious-but-still-jw-type comments that make my skin crawl, but i don't respond.

Nut Art
by InterestedOne inhere and there i've run across a couple articles that refer to wt art as "nut art.
" however, when i do a google search for this term, i mainly find websites about art literally made with nuts, like pistachios, etc.
is there actually a genre of art called "nut art," and are there any websites that discuss it and provide examples of non-wt as well as wt?

In general, what is the ethically correct response if a minor tells you someone is molesting him/her?
by InterestedOne ini was thinking about what the elders are trained to do versus what i personally would do if a minor confided in me that someone was molesting him/her.
i'm not sure what the ethically correct first response should be.
my first thought is to contact some kind of law enforcement that specializes in investigating situations like this with people experienced in getting to the truth of the matter.

Is "Lying for the Truth" a real expression among JW's or just something apostates or worldlies made up?
by InterestedOne inalthough i've read some of the "theocratic war strategy" articles, etc., i have heard some on here use the expression "lying for the truth.
" is that an expression jw's say among themselves?
also, does it appear in an article anywhere?.

My Study Conductor Jumped Ship - Any Possible Explanations?
by InterestedOne inmy study conductor has informed me that he & his wife are switching to a foreign language congregation that is far away from the territory they live in (it will involve a lot of driving back & forth).
because he is switching congregations, he said he will not have the energy to devote to my study and recommended another brother who could take over, and i have met him.
however, this change happened simultaneously with a decision i have made.

Have JW's ever been charged with littering? Why do they say place flyer in an inconspicuous place?
by InterestedOne ini walked onto my front porch this morning to see a memorial flyer cleverly placed so it was out of sight from the street but so i would notice it.
i saw my neighbors had one placed that way too.
have jw's ever been charged with littering for their flyering?

Exclusive use of the name "Jehovah's witness"
by InterestedOne indoes the organization headquartered at 25 columbia heights in brooklyn have some kind of exclusive rights to the name "jehovah's witness?
" i noticed some of the recent letters from them posted here are signed "christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses.
" what if i wanted to start my own "christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses" that had no affiliation whatsoever with 25 columbia heights in brooklyn?
