Not much anyone can do. Except maybe wonder why it hadn't happened sooner?

If God exists and ordered a Purge how would you react?
by sabastious inthe reason why god killed everyone in the days of noah was because of the demons who came to earth.
according to the story their direct presence and impact on us had a poisening effect.
we became corrupted and god felt the need for a total purge.. that's what the witnesses say is happening today.

They always have to arrange for a return visit. "Why don't I come back at this same time next week and show you the answer to that question."
I'm glad you said, "Why not show me the answer right now?" ha haWe can say, "Why not show me the answer right now? What if Armageddon comes before next week?"

May 22, 1969 Awake! promises "you will never grow old" - Creative Writing
by Mad Sweeney inthe year is 1969. faithful followers of the watchtower society are gearing up for the imminent end of the system of things just as they had been for the previous ninety years.
a young witness named andrew is trying to decide what to do with his life.
andrew is a smart kid and he has an entire lifetime ahead of him.

Great story! Sadly, it is not fiction. There are thousands of people who make up the "Andrew class". The Andrew class are those who listened to the Jeremiah class and the Jonadab class...

If Witnesses Really Cared......
by metatron inbeing "in" a religion and actually believing its doctrines are two different things.
i have little doubt that there are probably many leaders in the major religions who are actually agnostics and simply go thru the motions of being faithful to whatever ritual is asked of them.. this is possible because most religions put forth some effort to help people in some organized way - whether soup kitchens, public charities, hospitals or the like.
it gives people who are zealous - but privately heterodox - a chance to be supportive.. sadly, this will never be the case with the "truth".

You're right. The witnesses DO help "wordly"people in some cases. For example, after natural disasters brothers go to devastated areas to help their fellow believers. Afterward they help other people.
However, their reason for helping the others is so that it will make a good witness. True Christians show unconditional love to their fellow humans. The church I now attend - and most others that I know of - for example, feed the homeless on Saturdays, knowing full well these people probably have no intention of joining the church.

Assemblies
by finnrot ini was raised a jehovahs witness from birth, but even as a little child i had my doubts.
that's why i was never baptized.
i believed in jehovah but i just thought it was somehow a load of bullshit.

I've always hated assemblies too. They were WAY too long! The material could be covered in a WT study article rather than incoveniencing everyone. It is so difficult for the elderly, the handicapped, people with babies or small children, to travel and sit in those cramped seats all day. An entire day's worth of material could be covered in a one-hour WT study.

Ran into not One, not Two, but THREE elders at the same time!
by Soldier77 inso i'm out doing some shopping at the supermarket and as i'm walking to the checkout, i see my so and his wife (in full fs attire) talking to someone just past the checkout registers.
i am looking for the furthest checkout at this point making sure not to be noticed by the so or his wife.
well, just my freakin luck, there is only one checkout open.

(((((Welcome, Tim!)))))
The words, "Love your neighbor as yourself," show that you need to love yourself. Loving yourself includes knowing yourself and being yourself. If you view life as a gift, you will not waste it, but rather, you will live it to the fullest.

We should have our circus assemblies, with our own themes. "No Part Of The Org." And songs, such as "To Whom Did We (really) Belong?"

WARNING for active JW's
by Anony Mous inas you may have heard if you attended recently, social networking is of the devil and many have been 'lead astray' by website supposedly set up for jw.
whatever, you heard it before about rock, hard rock, hip hop, rap, gangsta rap, tv, werewolves .... anyway you may have heard of the recent elder school where basically there were the proverbial tongue lashings about not having social networking sites.
here is the skinny on recent developments:.

When I was appointed MS no one asked me if I was a pedophile! (I'm not, of course.) Maybe they assumed I was though, and that I'd fit right in with them? All they did was, right after the CO visit they told me I was recommended and that "the letter" was sent in, and we should hear back from the Society very soon. Then one Thursday after the meeting, while cleaning the Hall, an elder referred to the letter having been sent, and he asked me if I am aware of anything that would disqualify me from being appointed. I said No, not that I'm aware of. He said Good because we got the letter and you have been appointed. I then asked if I could give the public talk Sunday. lol He gave me an outline to start working on.
