You are dealing with a highly legalistic organization. Don’t try to beat them at their own game. Just don’t even waste the effort.

It’s tempting to think about walking into an elders room and saying, “Well guys, according to section 3, subsection VI, of chapter 9, <insert legal loophole here>. So based on that, I’m just going to walk away and everyone will be accepting of that decision.” And all the elders turn to one another and go “Ohhh, subsection VI! I totally forgot about that. Yeah, yeah. We’re OK now.”

It was a mistake. You may have been a kid when you were baptized. But it doesn’t matter now. You are an adult, and can decide now to nullify your baptism - “Dear Elders, It has come to my attention that the WTB&TS is full of what some might call bovine excrement. I am no longer a JW. Thanks.”

Your family are also adults and can decide to cut ties with you. That’s a decision they make. Don’t push off their moral agency on something else. It is their, really, their decision. In my case, I confronted my family (kindly) and let them know that it is their decision, and I wouldn’t accept an explanation in which they attempted to shrug that agency off on an organization.

Some shun me, some don’t. Maybe they will come around, maybe they won’t. It is what it is...

Whether or not he can be considered an “impeached” president, IMHO, is just a word game. The Democrats would like to slap the title onto Trump to brag that being impeached is another reason to vote him out of office. Republicans would like to take that away from them. But to me, it doesn’t matter. The House held the vote, and most likely the articles will get moved to the Senate at some point. If not, then this becomes and even larger joke.

On the Senate side, I can understand both viewpoints: just dismiss vs have a trial. On the “just dismiss it” side, the House already passed horribly flawed articles, so maybe the Senate should reject the articles as a rebuke, and to set a precedent for any future partisan impeachments. On the “fair trial” side, now is the chance to bring e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g out into the open.

I tend to agree with the fair trial side. Have the trial, bring every witness that was within breathing distance of this thing, including Trump, including Biden, including Schiff, Nadler, and ask some very clear questions. Oh and get the whistleblower there too (Eric Ciaramella), and just have a forking field day, right up to the election.

Joe Biden and Push-up Contests

in the past, the former vp has challenged trump to a push-up contest and today he did again , only this time to an 83 year old man who told biden that he thought he was too old to run for president.

it appears biden called him fat and unlike the man he wasn’t sedentary.

then he challenged the man to a push-up contest.
